I don't think you get cancer, but your hair does eventually fall out, faster than the rest of your hair falls out. It doesn't call all your hair to fall out faster, just where it caused regrowth.

Back about 18 or so years ago, it somehow became acceptable to just buzz off most of your hair. It was the best thing to happen to balding guys. I think that is why it has persisted as an OK style for this long.
