Does anyone know how the Coyotes can "choose" to give us their 2016 4th round pick when they already gave it to the Rangers?

Best I could see him getting is a one year deal for maybe $2m, and even then he may find himself in the press box if he really is "done."
- Scoob

Thats probably as good a guess as any. He doesnt really have much leverage. If there are no trade partners, then he either has to agree to terminate, prove that he can play and buy in (although he made it clear at the end of the year that he wants out), or he can sit quietly and make money. If he becomes too obnoxious (and he's never been anything like a distraction or public nuisance in the past) he runs the risk of having the Flyers do unto him as the Kings did unto Mr Richards.

Hopefully, after the bonus kicks in there will be a mutually agreeable trade partner.

It's conditional, they may acquire one between now and then.

I'm optimistic too but there are still a ton of question marks regarding this season.

New rookie head coach.

Can Medvedev make the transition and play top 4 minutes?

Really need a bounce back year from key guys like Read Amac and does RJU even have anything left?

Will VLC still be around?

Back up goalie?

- Marc D

I agree wholeheartedly. I just believe it's wrong to take what little positives we had with role players and expect anything different. It's the mistake made by trading for Umberger. There was a clear decline in his play with the Blue Jackets, so much so it was reported that he might get bought out and Hextall basically glove saved that contract. With this said, the players Hextall brought in were either unknowns (Bellemare) or players who were once pretty decent, coming off down years (Del Zotto, Schultz).

I don't like how Bellemare physically matches up and I worry about his health at times because of this. I think White could hold up just fine as a center or winger on the fourth line who also killed penalties at times before the season ended.

Guess you missed his big hits and when he took out Farnham?

Untrue. He was signed here originally as a 7th defense for a reason.
- SuperSchennBros

The reason was his most recent reason was bad. That doesn't mean he's had more bad seasons than good. He played 10 solid seasons in Minnesota, and was in the top 4 every one except his rookie season.

His first year in Edmonton wasn't bad either. Things only went downhill once Eakins arrived.

Bellemare is a better skater, a better forechecker, better defensively, and a good PKer, and a better fit for today's NHL. I like White, and he brings some intangibles, but I feel he's one of those players who went on a hot streak offensively, that isn't going to continue, and it might elevate his value for some teams. If he won't sign for around 700-800K, I'd walk away.
- MJL

You might be right but Ryan White is also younger and a guy who wasn't a regular with the Montreal Canadiens. He was working his way into the line up I believe, the same way Radko Gudas has been for the Lightning up until last season. That's how the NHL works for maybe less talented players.

Yeah, except Nick Schultz was in Edmonton for a number of season. Nick Schultz was in the top 4 with the Wild but he wasn't solid every season. He's had his struggles as some players do. One of those seasons saw him get traded from the Wild to the Oilers.

I've seen Mark Recchi and Danny Briere get into fights. The only reason why I know who Farnham is, is because he fought Bellemare.

Gudas was playing top-4 minutes in 2013-14, in a shut down role (with Carle). Top opponents against in terms of ice time? Kessel, Datsyuk, Bozak, JvR, E Karlsson.

No idea how he's earned this rep around here as a fringe player. Guy's pretty decent.

What's the average weight for a forward in the NHL?

I'd say a buck 90

Did he have to work his way into the league between the NHL and the minors leading up to last season? Gudas has played 126 Games in the NHL, splitting time between the minors and the NHL in three season. I don't remember saying he was a "fringe player".

The last part wasn't directed at you, sorry if it came off that way.

Just hear a lot of people on the internet assuming the guy's the #7. He's probably a more effective defender than half the guys in the stable.

I'm not sold on Gudas. I'm sure he probably can be a good player for the Flyers but from my understanding he can be reckless and undisciplined.

Also this debate on whether or not we should have signed Bellemare so quickly isn't a White vs. Bellemare thing for me. We also Scott Laughton who I believe at the least can do what Bellemare does. I don't have "hatred" for Nick Schultz but we also have Samuel Morin that I'd like to open some space for to see what he can do.

Maybe I rambled a little in my original post, but this is the point I was getting at.

That number is 2. His career spans 13 seasons. Please list the 7 seasons that were bad ones.

What would be the point of buying out Gagner?
To go out and sign a different forward that is a FA for too much money for a longer term?

Why do I have to list 7 out of 13?
