If they are keeping Gagner, all I'd do in FA is re-sign MDZ and White and a new back up goalie. - BiggE
I wouldn't mind looking at some of the teir 2 or 3 types. Maybe some depth that can swing up from AHL if needed. Barberio from TB would interest me. The goalie Vistian from AZ I would look at. Guys that you can keep on a 1 year deal.
I don't get it either. I'm so glad I'm not a Bruins fan right now. I can't believe they passed on Connor AND Barzal and reached for a couple guys who were probably going to be there with the 37th, 45th, and/or 52nd pick THAT THEY HAD JUST ACQUIRED.
This is one of those cases where I'm going to follow the career arcs of the three guys Boston DID select as well as those of Barzal and Connor. Maybe Sweeney is a genius and no one recognizes it. More likely IMO, there will be a fair amount of pointing and laughing down the road.
And then there's the Rinaldo trade... yes, its a 2017 3rd rounder, but you know what? It still has value. - Doc_Sarcasm
Lets see what "genius" moves he pulls today and tomorrow. By July 1st, my team will probably have Richards, Scott, and Cooke. And Bergy will be traded out west for two 2nd round picks in 2016 (while we retain half his salary)

I have no friggin' clue what my team is doing. . . .
We already have a pest who gets reputation calls from the department of player safety. And for a THIRD round pick. . . oy. - Charlie.Conway
I thought the Lucic deal was a good move. Looch looks like a guy who is becoming totally unhinged. His antics in the Detroit series in '14 against DeKeyser and again in the handshake line, his behavior and declining production this past season all make for good, solid reasons to part ways.
I can understand moving Hamilton, I cannot fathom why the haul coming back was not better.
And then, the draft picks.
What do you do if you're a Bruins fan? You can't possibly like whats going on.
I hope the Bruins home opener is televised on MSNBC or NHL Network. In fact, I hope a lot of their games make the TV. Home games promise to be a hoot. I can't wait to hear Edwards and Brickley.

When you find out what to do when you're a bruins fan, let me know, cause i'm at a total loss right now. I would have liked the Lucic deal a lot more if we didn't retain 2.7 mil of his salary. I was totally ok with relocating him. However, to then use that freed up cap space to sign a 3rd pairing D man for 2.5 per totally negated that.
As for Hamilton and the draft picks. .. i'm completely speachless.
EDIT: Add bringing in Rinaldo to that speachless list
anybody interested in bringing in stewart...Simmonds friend? - jmdodgeser4
I would... but I feel like he'd ask a little too much. He's a solid player, but has only ever put together one 20 goal season. His inconsistencies would drive all of us NUTS though.

For once, I'd love to see them enter the season not spending completely up to the cap limit. During the season, good players get waived, teams get into cap trouble, GMs go on tilt to try to make the PO's, etc....all opportunities that require cap space to exploit.
Sure, fill some holes in UFA and try to make the PO's if they must... but I hope Hexy continues to opt out of the initial July 1 frenzy, and keeps value for dollar in mind (and doesnt spend every last bloody cent).

I swear if an unforseen incident should occur to Hextall, you have my vote as GM. Very wise moves my man. MDZ isn't a must, but I hope something gets worked out.

Definitely need space next year for Voracek, Couturier, Schenn, and possibly others (Gudas, Raffl)

During Game 7 of the Flyers-Bruins series in 2010, when the Bruins scored to make it 3-0 in the first period, Lucic skated by the Flyers' bench and taunted them. Words to the effect of how the Flyers were already done and the series was over.
Later, Simon Gagne said that Lucic's words backfired. The Flyers were feeling a bit down on bench but Lucic promptly ticked them off and strengthened their resolve. Then JVR scored before the period end, the Flyers very much felt in the game.
