Wow... and for two years people have been mad at me for saying we should have taken him in the draft instead of Couturier.
That said... I'm not trading Laughton, Sanheim and Provorov for Dougie Hamilton. I think you're getting a bit excited about Hamilton. - mayorofangrytown
Streit-MacDonald?
MDZ-Medvedev (compared to Coburn)
Schenn-Schultz/Gudas
Mason/? - jak521
I think with a new coach and a lot of unknowns, I think the last thing I want to do is speculate on who plays with who and where. With that being said, I have doubts that Gagner plays center.

I think this is the year we see Couturier and Read separated.
The difference for me is that it's one thing to tear up Major Junior -- that's great that he is, and I am not taking a single thing from Travis Sanheim, because I sure as hell want that guy to be a monster for the Flyers
But let's really look at Dougie Hamilton for a second. Just look at him
6-5, 215 pounds, RH-shot
Has progressed from 17 minutes per night at 19, to 19 minutes per night at 20, to 21-plus minutes per night on the top pairing, at 21 years old
Point totals have gone from 16 in 42 games as a rookie, to 25 in 64, to 42 in 72
He plays in all situations
He's doing that against men, in the highest caliber league in the world, and he hasn't even hit his physical peak
Again, I'm not fighting -- we're just talking
But I'd pay for that, because he's not being sheltered -- he's doing that against the best, in all situations

Sam Gagner has probably scored more goalies in the shootout with one move, then the Flyers have since the shootout has been in existence. - SuperSchennBros
That move is all about the timing of that backhand deke. He's def gonna help with the shootout that's forsure.
I love how nobody in there mock lineups even considers the possibility that Vinny will be here and be in the lineup.

Wishful thinking. We are hoping he wants out as much as we want him out. While it is economically more feasible that he mutually terminates next year, I don't think his ego will allow him to be a healthy scratch for 82 games. Can you imagine sitting upstairs every game and someone gets hurt and they call up someone from Allentown to take the injured persons place.

For me, and in my perspective, I can't trade Sanheim and Provorov for Hamilton. Yes to all the things you say and given that I really like Hamilton. I don't have a negative thing to say about him.
I can't trade 2 players who I think may be his equal.
If it was the 7th and Sanheim, not knowing Provorov would be at 7 you would probably make me take a long walk around the block with my cell phone in my hand.

So what? With the 3-on-3 this year he'll never get to show it
