I'd take him at his full 8M
- stashu

So would I, I just would like to know why people wouldn't want a guy who scores a .935 ppg in his last 4 seasons (counting his bad last year) and who hasn't missed a game in those 4 years either...for $6 million, in fact he hasn't missed a game in 5 full seasons.

If its the assets to give up for him that's understandable

So 15 is with Baptiste (I know he could be talked into changing, which for Eichel, will happen if that is what he wants), but how about 51? It is now available, lol
- Lilroot9

51 isn't really an offenceman's number.. I'd like to see Eichel in 96 (His birth year) I think numbers in the 70's-90's look a lot cooler.

Well, not counting the ones he decided to stop trying for.

Oduya? Martin? Sekera? Beauchemin? None of the above? So many options. If Sekera wants to come back I wouldn't mind him. Think Beauchemin would be a good mentor for Pysyk.

EDIT: All of these are short-term solutions, 1-2 seasons...?

Any guy signed it will be for at least three years, likely 4-5 years is the contract they will all be looking for.

I just think he's Dany Heatly 2.0, terrible attitude, one-dimensional, took a half-year off because he didn't like how things were going with the franchise.

That, and we'd be shelling out important parts of what's now a near-depleted prospect pool to a team that we'll be facing multiple times a year.

That, and he'd get booed in our own building every time the Leafs came to town.

Just no thanks.

- nfph

I would love to see more Leaf sweaters thrown on the ice...

The only thing I can agree with you on is what it would take to get him.

Our prospect pool is not near depleted though. Fasching, Baptiste, Bailey, etc say hello.

Worst to first -

I wouldn't go that far yet but with 4 deep at center, Buffalo will likely be in the hunt for a playoff spot.

I wonder of Murray will make an offer to Condra on Wednesday.

And I took those games into his ppg...

Play him on the top line with Kane and ROR, I don't see how he wouldn't enjoy that and actually come back to his own zone once and a while.

He hated Toronto last year there was no bones about it. I think he would love Buffalo. The only person he would have to deal with is Harrington and he isn't nearly as bad as Simmons...

I could see Kessel gelling with Eichel too. Two Americans. Probably will play in the Olympics together.

What happened to this dude (PA Parenteau)?
Does he suck now or just another free agent that got a lot of money and isn't worth the cap hit?

- jochfr

I wanted the Sabres to pick him up years ago when he was a FA. He IS a RW at least...

That's a better line than he played with his whole item in Toronto right?

How exactly does one plan on getting Kessel from Toronto. Realistically, tell us what you think it will take. Whatever it is will be too much.

Considering he played with the great Lupul (whose numbers are only good since playing with Kessel), I'd think so.

Lupul is Moulson-esque to me - puts up numbers due to the big talent he plays with, moreso than because of himself.

What's the best capgeek replacement? I''d like to see what Buffalo's cap/ cap floor situation looks like now with no Cody.

That would be the best line he has played on in his entire career (counting the Olympics) IMO.

If they want to move him that bad where they would eat $2 million of his salary, I would say Foligno, Bailey or Baptiste, and next years first.

Not exactly a cheap price but IMO a price I would pay.

Yes but isn't one of McCabe/Ruhwedel expected to play with Buffalo full-time in 2 seasons? Don't mind the veteran help, just don't want to sign someone to an expensive deal only to have them take up a young guys ice time.

I think if the Sabres could get a top line RWer that would help Moulson tremendously

a 2nd line of Moulson, Eichel and Ennis

Not sure how customizable this is but the basic info is similar to capgeek:
