Murray's had a good off season so far..

8 draft picks

- Sign Stone – Check
- Sign Zibanejad – Check
- Sign Pageau – Check
- Sign Wideman – Check
- Trade a goalie for a decent return – Check
- Trade Legwand for whatever we can get – Check
- Trade Gryba for whatever we can get – Check

Still to do, though…
- Sign Condra
- Sign Hoffman
- Sign Chiasson
- Greening buy him out already!
- Somehow convince Phillips to retire

Other, lower-priority items would be signing Prince, Grant, and Schneider.

Also, if we can’t move Greening, then Neil and Smith might be other options to dump salary/open up roster space.

I wouldn't say he sucks. But his place on this team seems to be fading fast.

Garrioch claims two teams are interested in Greening but only if the senators retain some salary.. I would say do it just to open up the roster space. Plus it would be cheaper than paying him to sit or play in the AHL

Did they say what the return would be?

A similar underpeforming of a player or

Very low draft pick i would guess.

Who cares. Get him off the books. Even if we have to retain a portion of his salary/cap- we get something out of him (even if its a 7th rd pick) and create some cap room to sign Condra- which is important.

I would let Greening go for nothing. AND retain some of his salary. It's a no-brainer.

Absolutely, i'd do it for a conditional 7th of him winning the Norris.

Let's just hope he takes it! Would hate to see him go.

So which prospect do people think have the best chacne of making it out of camp?

Likely Peumpel, maybe Prince.

Paul will likely start in Bingo.

Now if only Phillips will retire, then we can go with 7 D instead of 8.

I could be wrong, but will there even be a roster spot open for a newbie who isn't NHL solidified?

Peumpel would be better suited in a role with largish minutes. Prince isn't anything we don't already have. Paul looks to be promising, but you're right, seasoning in Bingo is necessary.
