Probably not possible to do that. How many teams are willing to take $4.91mm in dead space for two years? I'm guessing most other teams would want a pick to do so.

The coyotes were going to buy out Gagner anyhow, this move just saves them cash and fills a hole, while getting them closer to the cap floor.

The Flyers get an easy buyout shared by TB and will get an additional $2.6mm in cap savings. It really boils down to the Flyers thinking Gagner fits or not. If they don't think he fits into what they're trying to do, buy him out and take the space.

From what Maloney said, Gagner didn't play well

The cap hit was $4,921, but the cost was only $525k. That's why Hexy ate $500k of Grossmann.

Schenns, read, 1st to Toronto?

- Just5

Literally the only way I would even consider trading for Kessel is if TOR takes Vinny and AMac with no salary retained on our end and not a single one of our D prospects, core players, or 1st round picks going the other way.

I do not count the Schenn's as core players at the moment but would still be cautious when it comes to moving Brayden. Luke, not so much.

Even then, why go for Provorov over keeping Hamilton? He's primed to have his breakout year next season. 50+ points and 24 mins a night type of season. Seems like Sweeney wanted to leave his mark on the team as the new GM, which is fine, but that he had no patience in doing it.

I don't get it either. They easily could have found a team to take Krug instead of Hamilton, and saved 3.4 mill there in addition to the 6 mill they saved by trading Lucic. The McQuaid resigning is also a bit suspect. B's now have Chara as their only true two way defenseman. Must have been some real locker room problems if they felt that strongly about trading Hamilton.

EDIT - forgot B's retained almost 3 mill in Lucic deal. Still, they would have a decent amount of space with that and a Krug trade in order to keep Hamilton and maybe letting McQuaid walk

How far he has fallen so fast. Well, that is what you get for being a party boy who has no use for getting to the gym.

I would be surprised if he gets anything more than a tryout offer.

What do you think the interest would be in Parenteau?

Yes, Panotch would question why we aren't assuming all D prospects make the starting roster

Wait until the second half.

I think Ghost needs to play in the AHL to get used to his new knee and added weight. Plus he hasn't played in almost a year by the time the season starts.

He could, but Morin did that last year according to Hextall & he was sent back.

Also is this assuming AMac gets traded or is just a $5 mill scratch?
