I suspect we'd have to use a body to get Gibson.

Haven't done any back reading.

But I like the pick. Don't love it because I think it's considered a reach, but considering we don't pick until 92, it's a nice snag. He'll be down for a few years but he's considered a very safe pick, and with the lack of quality defensive prospects, it's a nice snag.

They can afford the hi risk/hi reward factor he brings. I'm fine with not snagging him.

On paper he sounds a bit like how Pysyk was described.

This is the worst coverage of the second round. They aren't even showing the picks as they are made

I wish you didn't trade Zadarov for ror so you could trade him to us for okposo.

I think with the speed at which the picks are made they wouldn't be able to talk about anything else if they did go pick by pick. It isn't unlike what the NFL does after round 1.

Agreed. It doesn't normally get the coverage the same as the first round but it's pretty bad.

Yea I would at least like an active list of picks shown at all times on the screen during all these interviews and what not

Zadorov is an unknown but his ceiling his top-pairing D. Many here did not want to give him up for ROR.

Yeah, I had mixed feeling about his inclusion in that deal and our perceived depth of D took a big hit after shipping out Zads. They must be very comfortable with Pysyk. I was worried about him after he collapsed playing pickup basketball and was held out of the last twelve games.

a little comparison

oilers- Hall, Eberle, Nugent-Hopkins, McDavid, Yakupov, Draisaitl

sabres- ROR, Kane, Eichel, Girgens, Reinhart, Ennis

if my goal was to score 4 goals a game, I'd take the oilers top 6 (meaning younger core)

if my goal was to win a playoff series, I'd take the sabres core

- homiedclown

I'm going to start by adding Bogo and Risto to this list, and then I'm going to ask this question:Go back to November, 2011. How different do you think things would have been if this group played in front of Miller when Lucic stagecoached him?

The difference between the reaction of our old soft core, and the reaction we would all expect from this new group is a measure of how far we have come so far. I'm really so excited about the changes that are being made to this franchise. It's not just a difference in talent - its a difference in attitude and approach to the game.

OOOH, AH, Sabres on the warpath!!

At least we can both be happy that Vanek turned down 50 mill from our respective teams.

"The Buffalo Sabres select JACK EICHEL"

Wow! Last night was absolutely amazing!

My 5yr old son wearing his Sabres Jersey listening to thunderous applause for our future Centermen Jack Eichel. Then proceeding to complete a "mini-combine" with his 14yr old brother. Face Paint complete, entered the Sabres Locker room for the first time after pics with Danny Gare and Rob Ray (such wonderful embasadores).

Micheal your article, was so dead on point! Again the Buffalo News would be blessed to have a writer so poignant and precise. Absolutely loved the layout of the past 4 yrs 1st, 2nd, round selections still with our franchise, 4 1sts, 6 2nds, AFTER trading our extras for Lehner and RoR!
I was critical of Murray's price for Lehner, mainly because I thought it would proclude us from picking up ROR. Then as the day played out, I figured TM had known that Sakic valued one of our extra prospects were more valuable, which turned out to be the case.

Walked out of the Arena with the most hope and excitement I've ever had since 1980 when I attended my first game with my Gilbert jersey!
