lmao Lucic (getting old, 1 year from UFA, hard to believe how LA can resign him) got more than Hamilton - S Kaspar Rollins

If BOS puts one of the 2nd rounders in, say #37?
#37 + Jones for #16? - mventres
...or Subban for #16?? |

For a 1st and another 1st in 2016 if he extends, or prospects?
Would give BOS picks 13, 14, and 15 AND 3 2nd rounders...this year...wow, that would be a quick way to get some nice prospects! - mventres
seriously......has anyone ever had 3 picks back 2 back 2 back in round 1! |

Rebuild confirmed. BOS has 5 picks in the top 50 now and are gonna load up on more. BOS wasn't going to be that close next year and would have to rebuild soon anyway, I'd be excited if I were a BOS fan. - BourbonCounty
Hamilton was 22. Far from someone who doesn't fit into a "rebuild" |

If they get EDM #16 for Jones+ or Subban, it would be 4 in a row! |

Boston may have lost the Calgary trade but you clearly won this one! 13th pick, Martin Jones and a prospect (Colin Miller) from AHL
Nice haul! - justmike
i get why they traded lucic, and this is a good deal for them, bit baffling for LA imo, but their overall strategy doesn't make sense |

Subban+13th+45th(+?) to AZ for Hanifin? |

You would think that you rebuild around a guy like Hamilton. Not Chara. - deadpoulet
Still time to turn Chara into more picks and start the rebuild with all players around the same age. Is this the new Edmonton? |

yup. much moreso than i did before, defense was the #1 priority for flames this offseason but i was figuring they'd go after Franson or Green, this is much better |

So Bruins now have Rask Subban and Jones....
Anyone else here thinking Rask for EDM 1st overall? |

I doubt that's the plan...more likely is EDM #16 for Jones+ or Subban straight up. |

still would be absolutely stunned to see Jones or Talbot get a midround 1st. maybe a late 1st - S Kaspar Rollins
Apparently Sather already turned down this offer for Talbot. Not sure how credible, but if so, was probably Edmontons 16 |

yeah i've heard that. conflicting reports on Talbot offers but it does seem clear Sather is gonna drag it out to the draft floor (smart) |

BOS can take than pick for Jones+ or Subban. Heck, they could deal both!
Subban to EDM for #16
Jones to ARZ for #30 or 32
Would give BOS like 8 picks in the top 60...yowza! |

Talbot = much older, wants big contract, really not very proven
Jones = similar to Subban, but will want a $$ deal soon, a bit older, also not proven
Subban = totally unproven, high talent, but very nice contract for the next few years. Importantly, very young and will be there through the rebuild and beyond. |

if i'm trading a high pick for a goalie i want some evidence he can play at the NHL level. subban is a top goalie prospect, sure, but goalies are easily the hardest player to project
not to mention most teams tied to talbot rumors have had outright goaltending vacancies, he'd be the #1 by default. can't pencil subban into that spot. |

Perhaps, but I don't think EDM wants to pay $$ for talbot and a 1st round pick. Subban is basically ready to play anyway, split time w/Scrivens or something like that. If he pans out, then you can pay him...not likely to get a better G at #16 anyway, and if so, likely another 3-4yrs before he can step in... |

if edmonton wants to be taken seriously again soon, and i believe they do (they kind of have to since they only have 3 years of ELC McDavid), they won't go into next season with bad/uncertain goaltending. goaltending and d were easily their biggest weakness last year. granted, im not sure Talbot or Jones would solve that problem. i think they should go after niemi |

Subban is most definitely not ready to play and needs at least another year, and still, who knows?
Out of the 3 options Talbot is the best. The better option is for Edmonton to save their pick and sign Ramo next week. |
