He said as much in his press scrum. He said he thinks Lehner is a #1 goalie on a cup contending team. If that's how he views him I guess trading a late 1st is not an overpayment. We won't know for a couple years probably.

Looking at it again and with a cooler head. I still don't love the trade but I do think with a few more ajustments this could be a playoff team next year

IMO it wont be untill lehner is in his prime and still playing for a contending buffalo team that we can call this trade "worth it"

It's already been mentioned but i think the contractual control is key as well. What's worse, 21 for lehner or 31+ for a guy who could walk in a calendar year? Not that i like the deal either way but it does explain a lot.

First off, your history refutes that

Second, we can choose those options as many times as we want.
