I'm thinking Kapanen Pouliot plus whatever is pitts worst contract and 2016 first for Kessel and 2016 2nd and maybe a mid level prospect.
Pitts 1st will probably be in the mid to late 20's with Kessel and the leafs pick will be a high 2nd round. So probably within 10 spots of each other. - HealthyScratch6

I can tell you not even the old man is dumb enough to do that. If he does trade Maatta in a deal involving Kessel, he won't have a fan base to support him. The trade would have negative impact for Pittsburgh. Not rocket science. Every Penguin fan with a brain knows Kessel doesn't help. - Oneonta Penguin
that same logic should've applied to lovejoy for despres. |

How doesn't Kessel help?
You get one of the best wingers in the league to play with Crosby or Malkin.
If one of them gets hurt (which is bound to happen) you can split up Kessel and the other player and still have two scoring threats on your top two lines.
The powerplay would easily be the scariest in the league with Crosby Malkin Kessel Letang and Kunitz in front of the net.
Kessel might be terrible defensively but his offense is elite and if you had him on your team you'd soon see that. He's not only one of the best pure goal scorers in the league and probably the most underrated passer.
All that said I hope he doesn't get traded to Pittsburgh. A lot of teams have assets that are much more appealing than Pittsburgh. |

yup. sure seems like rutherford is under some pressure to win now.
a scenario that could lead him to overpaying with future assets for immediate results - again. |

typically, getting your rfa backup goalie signed in june isn't a priority.
to me, jones is low hanging fruit when it comes to offer sheets. I suspect lombardi is trying to head that off. |

Signed O'Reilly for Kessel? Probably pretty close salary-wise, but TOR has a need at C and COL has a need at W. |

What's the level of interest In Sutter? Has been floating around he could be a 2nd line C on some teams.
I could live with a Sutter/Kapanen/Scuderi/1st RP for Kessel + something. |

Toronto has no need at center if there isn't a Kessel |
