Frolik is a nice player, but for (frank)'s sake, he is not a $5M+ player. $3-4M tops.

Frolik is a nice player but I have no interest in him at $5M per season. 4/$16M is the most it would make sense to pay him.

gotta love a guy taking a hometown discount to play for a team that isnt his hometown.

The assets the Pens would have to give up would really hurt in a couple years.

Of all of the "rumors" I've heard, the Kessel deal makes the least amount of sense for the Penguins. We can only hope Ruthy feels the same way.

Is ROR a $7.5m/yr player?

Kessel with Malkin or Crosby would be amazing. Cap wise its doable. It all depends on whether Pitt wants a legit consistent scorer for as long as they have Malkin or Crosby.

Everyone remembers Kessel and how he looked with Savard feeding him in Bsonton.

*PITT fans start salivating*

...where he would become know as the 'Pittsbury Doughboy'.

I've never seen a team so intent on 'dumpling' one of their players on someone else with so much conviction...you just might have to 'eat' his contract you know?

Florida really ruined Frolik. Even still he had 21 goals in each of his first two NHL seasons with us. He's an ideal 2nd/3rd line winger. He would be great with you guys.

No 1 is going to pay Frolik 5 million per season. If they do they are insane.

No but Stastny is a $7mil player allegedly and ROR is as good as him so the precedence is set for his argument.

Which is the same logic Frolik's agent will apply for his client.

I hope they stay away from Farnham.. He can't score can't skate. Loses in fights all he does is try to put people through the glass and make a him look like an idiot.. If they want to keep him in wbs then fine but he does not belong in NHL

End rant

if it gets the penguins another cup its worth it though. lets face it, when crosby and malkin start to decline, this team is in for major hurt as it is. might as well capitalize on their prime years they have left.

I hate that mindset and frankly, most Penguins fans are tired of hearing about that. It's all we've heard for the last 6 years and it has been nothing but disappointment. I'm a Penguins fan first and foremost. I care about what is in the organization's best interest- not Malkin's and Crosby's.

The Hawks blog writer is trying to tell me that Sharp is a better player than Hornqvist currently is... Career wise it's Sharp easily.

Who would you rather have if they were the same age, cap hti etc, Sharp or Hornqvist?

Sharp with all things equal... However, at this stage right now, with both at their ages and cap hit, Horny, by a wide margin.

John Jaeckel also thinks Toronto should be interested in Sharp so I don't know why you'd waste your time arguing with him in the first place.

The hawks blogger is never wrong...NEVER....and he'll talk down to you since you don't have blackhawks as your favorite team under your avatar. But i guess thats what you get when you're in the position he is in in life.

why is it not in the org's best interest to capitalize on 2 of the top 5 players in the world's prime years?

mario has already shown his hand about what he thinks is coming by selling high.

I think the pens make one mid size UFA acquisition. Frolik or Franson both have good analytics. If their contracts stay reasonable like 5 years 25 for frolik and 5 years 28 for Franson then either will fill a huge need.

Soderberg becomes an option if we able to deal Sutter for a top 6 guy.

I think the pens will struggle as a cup contender next year but if they make wise offseason moves we can still be a very good team.

I think Kapanen and the you dmen need a year of grooming but 2016-2017 the team should be in good shape.

Kapanen-Crosby- Hornqvists
Peron -malkin - frolik are perfectly fine top 6. Elite centers surrounded by legitimate top 6 wings

The year after this we can buy out scuderi for less so then we can add the top 4 vet defenseman I think we need to add to our young dmen. Then you have a complete team of healthy

The Hawks blogger wouldn't just tell you that. Probably 30 out of 30 NHL GM's would.
