Absolutely, theres no doubt teams are eyeing Miller at 2-2.5. Thats not a bad deal for him at all and they pay pennies on the dollar. Would you take a 2016 2nd rounder from a team like EDM or BUF for Miller? - WayneY
Not trading Miller, someone wants him, offer sheet him at that amount. NY could then match. Why trade him if don't know he will get an offer sheet? Better to try and sign him or see what happens and then react, given how few and few far b/w offer sheets are given out. |
|

Offer sheets are few and far between, but they are still a scary possibility. A team like EDM has nothing to lose and everything to gain in these type of situation. They either get to add a young power forward coming into his own that can step into a top 6 role for them immediately, or they don't and do nothing but fuk the Rangers. Hopefuilly Sather built up enough respect around the league to avoid one, but who the hell knows - WayneY
But if Edmonton stinks, you get a high second round pick. Let's see how much Schultz gets, as that will impact their available cap room. |

The scenario I proposed was not a trade. It was a 2nd as compensation if NYR did not match the offer sheet given by either BUF or EDM |

Agreed. And I still think Miller is worth more than a high second rounder. I think everything is starting to click for him and he is putting all the tools together to become an impact player for us |

Wayne, thanks, wasn't sure if you were proposing a trade or noting what compensation would be. |

We used a 15th overall pick to draft Miller. Would suck to get a 2nd as compensation in return. |

Absolutely, I was just noting that would be what we weer stuck with if Miller were offer sheeted at that amount and we didnt have the space to match. Would definitely blow |

it's kind of amazing that the league is demanding a 500M expansion fee when Forbes last NHL valuation only had 11 teams in the NHL worth 500M over more.

Am I the only one thinking the NHL needs to shrink to 28 not expand to 32? Talent on bottom 4 on most teams already sucks as it is... |

Put me in the minority but I would love for the Rangers to bring in Lucic some how. Him and Krieder and Zucc as the Bash bro trio = - TPC
For 6M per year and 4o points per year? No thanks. Yandle a better player. |

I think they need to have the same number of teams in each conference, but they'll never contract |

Forbes is brutal at valuations though. They undervalue every company, teams, and individual. |

Crazy that Dolan owns that, the Knicks, and MSG itself. Along with Cablevision. Dude is a walking bank. |

Where there is smoke there is fire. How many times has Brooks spoken about trading Nash? I think he is going to be dealt. Crazy part is, how do you replace 42 goals?

I am picturing if a Nash trade happens we are gonna trade his 7.8 million cap hit and end up with a guy making like 4.5 |

The only point in trading Nash is cap relief to sign everyone else, and maybe a small splash in the market. Trading Nash for the same cap hit or even more for those two guys who are just as big as playoff disappointments as Nash doesnt make sense IMO. But I guess stranger things have happened |
