Second to last game of the season (for us, anyway) could potentially be an interesting one.

Unsure if you saw this but interesting because wonder if this impacts the market price for Hagelin and less so for Miller.

The Senators have extended Mika Zibanejad for 2 years at a cap hit of $2.625 M per season (breaks down as $2M year 1 and $3.25M for year 2). Mark Stone has signed a 3 year extension, with a cap hit of $3.5M per season ($2.25M, $3.75M, $4.5M)

I don't think it has much affect on either. Miller still played AHL this year and was scratched a lot. I think he'll get something closer to Tanner Pearson's deal at $1.4m x2. Maybe it'll get stretched to $1.6m. Haglin is coming off a bridge deal already so any deal past 1 year would be buying ufa years, but with Hag's there's no upside to his numbers so Brooks is smoking something if he thinks Sather will pay $3.75m+ for a penalty killer and 32 point scorer.

Step straight up for Staal ? I would to win now ....2 yr left on Staal worth it
or throw Boyle in to balance deal & help Carolina on Back line (we pick up 1/2salary)

overall aside from the center depth or top talent depth ...
the teams overall depth is the concern ..we need the Haggertys & kristo types to be ready to step in & produce ... DEPTH .is our achilles ,its what cost us the finals this yr.ran out of healthy optuions that were better than what we had to put out

Future has been sold in the past for the now. Not sold on Staal and don't think he is or would be better than Stepan as a 1a or 1b center. Nash scored 42 goals last year, his center? Brassard, so why does it need to change, as no guarantee Staal any better in that role.

Wouldn't that hurt the Rangers in trade talks? Can essentially change teams offers if they know Cam wont extend. IDK, seems like a bad move on the Rangers end. Unless they know his feelings towards one team and thinks with them knowing he would be willing to resign they can get more (SJS)

Sounds more like it could help them. If Sather is standing firm with his asking price, a team may be willing to pay it if they could be assured that Talbot was going to re-sign.

No, Capuano was our favorite and yes. We did win the cup in December.

I wonder if there is more of a chance the Oilers trading the 16th overall pick and a player like Eberle to Arizona for the 3rd overall pick so the Oilers can keep McDavid and Strome together
