he is a 29 year old 2 way center who is big bodied. I think he'd be a great 3C. I think he had like 13 goals and 30 points for Boston last year.

Problem is... he is actually regarded as one of the best UFAs on the market at C. Someone is gonna throw 2C money at him like we did with Leino.

It depends. There's not a ton of teams that have the space we do. I'm sure he'll have options. If we got him, I'd be fine with it. But if he goes somewhere else, I won't cry about it either. Just think he could be a nice pickup for a year or two.

To quote a frequent poster on this site, "we don't need Eichel and Reinhart to be GOOD, we need them to be GREAT."

And while I am confident Grigorenko can be good on the wing, I have more confidence that Meier will be GREAT there.

reading the scouting reports on Meier... they sound almost IDENTICAL to Grigorenko coming out of the Q as well.

talks about needing better decision making.. likes to shoot first.. could be more agile.. good away from the puck but not in his own zone... Needs to use his bigger body more in battles and corners.. turns the puck over a lot.

Meier is probably 2 years out from the NHL. He seems to be a little behind physically when it comes to the pro game and it's been noted he needs a lot of work with acceleration, own zone play and board battles. Seems like a steal at 21.

Not saying I would bend over backward to have him here but I don't get why so many people are completely opposed to Patrick Sharp. When he stays healthy enough to play 70+ games he is always a 60-80 point kind of guy. He is 33 years old so maybe he won't be able to play that many games any more but still.

He has better stats than Hossa for the most part of his career besides one or two. Hossa does seem to have slightly better playoff stats but mostly due to more assists whereas Sharp is more goals.

I don't get it. I'd buyout or deal Hossa at age 36. Maybe just trade Sharp because he is younger and has more value with a better deal?

His possession numbers are pretty bad, whereas Hossa not winning a Selke is debatable as a travesty.

The Sabers without any doubt should take Talbot why gamble even more especially on a Russian player who barks KHL and always wants more money than they are worth! Take Eichel and Talbot to start your day one! That is a move in the right direction!!!
