Actually I think Eklund is on to something with the Oilers and the Mike Green thing. Green is willing to sign with the Oilers, and the Oilers are extremely interested in adding a top pairing D. Thanks to the moronic Jeff Petry contract Green is upwards of $7mil per now. But the Oilers aren't going to find a better defenseman available via free agency.

No to Green.

Nope.Green is a lot closer to what the Oil need than Phanuef. Hes a Right hander first off. He can run a PP. He can move a puck up the ice. And he's not a douche.

Green isn't ideal but he's better than most of the options.

I hear all the anti-Mike Green banter and I'm like sure I can see that. Keep in mind, this was the first year with a solid defensive coach in B Trotz. I think he would perform well under McLellan.

I would be stoked to see Edmonton grab Oduya and Mike Green and ditch Nikitin if they can. Then we would have:

I like Marincin but I see him as trade bait. Not sure what for.

Don't be too surprised if Chiarelli goes after Greg Campbell. He'd be a great player to help show the Oilers how to win and what it takes. I'd like to see him pry Chris Kelly from Boston as well. They would help big time.

This is a weird story but neither of those teams need an $8 m F. He's a tremendous player. Pit would then have Crosby $7.8, Malkin $9, and Kessel $8 m. $25 m for 3 guys. I'm not a GM but I think they need more depth unless they are planning to trade Malkin.

Philly needs D more than anything else.
