So now they know what a mortgage feels like.
- StargateSG1

Except it's worse. It's money they put into an account that they never see again because the revenues don't justify the cap. It's optics for the league is all. They want to see the cap go up. Even if it shouldn't.

So Chiarelli said yesterday he went through two offersheet scenarios in Boston. One was public and one not? Who were they?

With the Salary Cap at $71 million, the following teams have less than $10 million in space heading into next season. (have $61 million or more already committed to next year)

If I remember correctly, there was a threat that Marchand was going to get one before he signed the current contract he is on. I dont know the other one. I dont think either one got to the point where one was actually signed. Maybe there was a threat of one with Krug or Smith last year because they both held out?

Chiarelli can skimp out on specifics sometimes.

Yeah neither obviously signed or they would have been public. Just threats I think.

Could be. I think teams may have offered the contracts but the players could have refused them. Who knows what really happened though.

I don't believe it does. The flyers are sitting at around $64 million when you include the cap relief for Pronger's LTIR

Actually I think Eklund is on to something with the Oilers and the Mike Green thing. Green is willing to sign with the Oilers, and the Oilers are extremely interested in adding a top pairing D. Thanks to the moronic Jeff Petry contract Green is upwards of $7mil per now. But the Oilers aren't going to find a better defenseman available via free agency.

Give Washington the 2nd round pick from Montreal and get on with it.

Can someone explain the Coyotes. In the last 11 drafts they've had 15 1st round picks; 8 of which are top 13 picks. And what do have to show for it? OEL, and no young stars.

They got 2 1sts again right
