I dont think either one got to the point where one was actually signed. Maybe there was a threat of one with Krug or Smith last year because they both held out?

I don't believe it does. The flyers are sitting at around $64 million when you include the cap relief for Pronger's LTIR

Actually I think Eklund is on to something with the Oilers and the Mike Green thing. Green is willing to sign with the Oilers, and the Oilers are extremely interested in adding a top pairing D. Thanks to the moronic Jeff Petry contract Green is upwards of $7mil per now. But the Oilers aren't going to find a better defenseman available via free agency.

Give Washington the 2nd round pick from Montreal and get on with it.
