From TSN According to TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie, Kessel’s list includes Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Minnesota, Montreal, the New York Rangers, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.

New Bruins’ GM Don Sweeney surely isn’t going down the Kessel road, even if he could afford it. The other seven clubs all have significant salary cap constraints - with Kessel being a pipedream to add for the Blackhawks, Kings, Canadiens, Wild and Rangers.

Of course, Kessel’s list could also change with a phone call. One team believed to be kicking the tires on Kessel are the Calgary Flames, whose president, Brian Burke, traded for Kessel in Toronto.

The NHL’s trade market could break open well before Toronto decides what to do with Kessel or Phaneuf. Edmonton, Buffalo and San Jose are hot for Rangers’ backup goaltender Cam Talbot. A Talbot trade could set off a domino effect on a teeming goalie market.

The Senators are shopping one of Robin Lehner or Craig Anderson and Dallas starter Kari Lehtonen is available. Calgary is willing to move Jonas Hiller. One of Eddie Lack or Jacob Markstrom is likely leaving Vancouver. Plus, the Ducks (John Gibson) and the Kings (Martin Jones) are toying with the idea of moving their backups.

I predicted that Kessel would go to SJS and still think this is where he ends up, they have cap space, assets and the desire still to win with Jumbo likely not willing to go.

Typical that the first 3.5-4 paragraphs are about Toronta, and the last 1-1.5 are about the rest of the league.

Nobody wants Kessel or Phanuef, unless TO carries alot of their contract dollars.

And aren't leafs still paying for McCabes salary?

I sorely wish I was watching 18 holes of playoff golf today as my work day has been beyond dead. Damn Dustin Johnson. Choke artist on the big stage.

Sounds familiar to someone we know all to well around here doesnt it

I was there. Hearth breaking. Was really looking forward to taking the day off work today and watching it.
Although we were told our Sunday tickets were not good for the playoff, we would have needed a weekly pass. Total BS.

1040 just said Bieksa's value is a 2nd or more likely a 3rd, can't say I disagree but think it might be more worthwhile to try and move him at the deadline if a 3rd is the return.
- belcherbd

I posted here the other day I thought Bieksa could get a 2nd. He still has a positive rep among some GMs around the league. If Benning gets the offer he should pull the trigger.

Thats a good point... any team that can carry him can probably cash in with a first rounder and prospect at the deadline.

A 1st and a prospect for Sutter??? Not bloody likely.

It's a deep draft, I hope they get a 2nd.

I agree a 2nd right now would be good, I doubt he has much more value than that.

It is always hard to tell come TDL though, as even older rental D often are often valued at a premium.

It is but it's also a top-heavy draft. I could see SJ (#39) or COL (#40) having interest. Or maybe OTT (#48). Bieksa would have to waive first of course.

The return for Sutter will be modest. Temper your expectations.

Edmonton just fired most of their scouts.

Pretty obvious choice considering all those years of picking high and they don't have anyone past a 1st rounder on the team.

You're joining with the band and the confusion with the situation I would say he could possibly garner that return... And that would be at the trade deadline on another team.

I Don't think they could mess up this years 1st pick. Hopefully.

Not this year but I'm sure they thought similarly the other 3 years of drafting #1 overall. Only Hall looks legit, but we've never seen him in the playoffs either.

I disagree, RNH is legit. Landeskog is a great player but I don't think you can blame Edm for taking RNH before him.

Frankly all the b!tching and complaining about the course pissed me off. Gary Player can shove it.

Would you rather have it come down to the very last putt on the very last hole? Or have Rory Mccilroy run away with it by ten shots on hole 72?

Watching Professionals struggle was a delight for me.

Bring on more Chambers Bay!

I'd say at the TDL, Bieksa gets you at least a 1st but ya, right now as a dump....likely a 2nd....

I know - its crazy but hey, if we can sell Bieksa at the TDL for a 1st....
