I feel as though Oshie is extremely overvalued because of his shootout performance in the Olympics. He's a good player, but not nearly the superstar SOME, not all, people try to claim he is.

I agree, I always thought he was a pretty solid all around player, consistent...willing to play physical, you know something the Pens dont really have.

That is why I said he is appealing to the eye, but his career stats aren't nearly as high as what they should be when you watch them. He is very solid and brings a lot of what Pittsburgh needs, but he isn't the player a lot think he is. The way some speak make it look like he is a superstar. He isn't.

He's a solid top 6 forward in his prime and on a good contract. He might not be a superstar, but right now he is worth a lot more than Dumoulin/Harrington and Bennett. I don't think there is anyway in hell the Blues make that deal.

"That's just a whacko asking price on Sharp. A guy with a 5.9mill cap hit that played on the 3rd & 4th lines in March during the playoff race & games mattered. Good luck Chicago."

We dont need luck, we have 3 Cups in 6 years.

Yes. And this year UFA agents can start talking to teams (legally) this thursday. Which is why there is almost no chance any UFA rights will be traded.

This is true, very true. I don't see what motivation ST. Louis would have trading a top six winger to Pittsburgh for a third D pairing guy with no or little experience in the pros and a player that is basically a bust at this point in his career. If Bennett isn't a top six winger here, he certainly wouldn't be in STL. He is worthless as a third or fourth line winger.

Harrington/Dumo and Bennett for Oshie makes STL worse off.

Sutter is also useless to them unless the Blues make major changes to their roster and unload at least 2 of Lehtera/Backes/Berglund.

Hence Pouliot

and Osh needs to go he has worn out his welcome in STL

Comments last year were just weird and I feel he is angling for a trade because of Hitch

The argument would be it would free up space for STL to sign Taresenko and Schwartz, both are due for bigger contracts. They can get a D roster spot cheap and extend Backes if desired and BB can be cheap for a while. I dont think its a terrible thought. I would imagine they would want a 1st, but I dont think they are in a position to take back a contract.

Laughable that Pitt fans keep saying no to Sharp, despite their annual early exit from the playoffs again. Fact is, if you guys don't overpay, one of your rivals will (see Washington), and you guys will be in a worse spot than you were last year. The Blackhawks, despite their salary cap dilemma, are the ones in the position of strength here, not the teams with missing parts.
