What about Shawn Matthias from VAN? A good 3C option? - sammy87
Wouldn't be opposed at all. |

What if Pittsburgh and Chicago were in talks about a trade and Pitt was sending over a first, Kap, and Bennett and everyone assumed that the winger Chicago was sending back was Sharp, but it turned out it wasn't Sharp at all... |

All I know is if Kappy get's traded this summer that might be the final straw for me. That makes no sense.
If the Blackhawks had the stones to ask for him, you consider it an insult and hang up the phone. I wish I could be certain that GMJR won't do something really stupid in the next several days. |

Would you consider taking Marleau at a reduced rate and and shipping a second? |

Through this together, trying to be creative.
BTW Kuni was traded for a 2nd, then that was used for an offer sheet on Pulk. - sammy87
Solid team. Not sure Bennett and Harrington is enticing enough to get Eriksson, but that team would be nice.
I think we need "our" 2nd that TO currently owns. |

My thinking was BOS needs to shed cap, Loui only has a yr left so he can't cost that much. BOS gets a cheap roster F and a D prospect. IMO thats fair considering Loui's health history, which really isn't that bad all things considered. |

Yeah, you're probably right about being enough. On my team I offered up Bennett to get our 2nd back. |

i want to bring him back if only for that (frank)ing reason.
they better somehow convince him to take like a 2 year, 3.7 million dollar deal or something to make it somewhat worth it. |

Honestly I'd just laugh at that point. If we're gonna suck might as well make it funny. The next move I'd want Old Man Ruth to make after that is fire Magic Mike and bring in Pierre McGuire. |

id want crosby to just refuse to report.
of all the drama, crosby is the one who just says (frank) this and goes to the KHL, not malkin.
the world would burn. |

Kunitz will not get a second, lucky if it's a 4th. We need to get our picks back to make offer sheets. |

I think Bennett would get Erikson for sure. I think PIT would be kinda dumb to do it though... |

If its for Sharp, then the Pens will lose a lot of fans. That would be one of the most ridiculous ideas from a GM in this city, this side of Naslund to Vancouver for Stojanov. I think Bennett is garbage, but if that is the package, Brandon Saad better be coming back. If not, hell would break loose. |

Yep, dumb to trade a non factor bust who probably has little future here for someone that can do something and possesses a good work ethic too boot. Remember, you were giving me the lecture about having to take chances. You aren't giving up a high pick or a good prospect. You aren't giving up anything of consequence here. This is better than Semin, or Sharp. If Erikson busts, he is gone in a year and its not like the Penguins lost anything of note.
I know Boston would want to shed $$$, but I find it hard to believe they would want Bennett. |

yeah. thats absolutely egregious if true. someone needs to be fired before they have the chance to make that deal, just for even entertaining it. |

I think he get's more than a 4th. Funny how Kuni had about the same numbers as Sharp and the Hawks are asking for a ransom. Not to mention his much bigger salary. |

Kapanen is such a boom or bust type that I wouldn't mind if they made a solid trade with him. I'd have a much bigger problem if they traded Pouliot. |

It's all about perception. Sharp got his name on the cup again and Kuni got sent to the golf course early again.

I would unload Kapanen only if it meant a solid young top 6 winger coming back. |

Ditto. Kappy is our only top 6 forward prospect. I would lose my mind if they traded him for an aging player.
By the way from everything I've read, Kappy is at least a year or two away. Anybody that's counting on him for this years team is going to be disappointed. |
