Hahaha! In all seriousness, is he on the block? If so, what is the reported asking price?
- Papa Joe19

Im sure at TDL he will be for a 1st and a prospect. Comparable to Yandle trade.

Crouse could drop to 13 or 14. He is the most polarizing prospect among scouts.

Some rank him as high as 5, some 14. Some see the next Lucic, but some see the next Steve Bernier too.

Except Zacha who is expected to be a defensive liability, but a high scoring threat.

Crouse pops into top 4-5 on some lists. I do not think I have seen Zacha higher than 6th

Check to Talbot.
No for Hamhuis unless it is low picks. He is north of 30 and we have 3 LD already. We need RD.
Maybe to Okposo, but might cost.

- j0e Th0rnton

I wouldn't overpay for Hamhuis. I just don't feel comfortable with Dillon and Mueller behind Vlasic. I want Mueller to have a season to learn in AHL, ideally. And Burns struggled with building chemistry with partners last season. He showed he played well with Hamhuis at the worlds.

Okposo is an ideal fit for our top six. Perfect age at 27. Speed, size and grit. He'd be worth a call.

He's 6 years older than Yandle and headed into his final contract year. Seems like a steep price.

Don't Tempt me

I would like Raffi Torres also.

Done. Bring back Lappiere and be the most likeable team in the NHL again

Yandle is one of the best offensive Dmen in the game, lead his team in scoring and is 28 years old + Arizona retained 50% to drive his price up to a contender. AND he had another full year of contract.

Hamhuis is several years north of 30, a defensive dman and even if you retain 50%, you are not getting a 1st for him

I agree Mueller needs a year, but i think Dillon would do better with a more steady defensemen as his partner. Burns is extremely talented but can put his d partner in tough positions and take unnecessary penalties. When they did move him he played with guys like mueller, hannan, and ahl call ups. I'd like to see him play with another steady defensemen with more talent than last year to better judge him.

I completely agree. I really like Dillon and think he could turn into a really solid defenceman. That's why I thought Hamhuis would be a good fit. He already has chemistry with Burns. He has one year left on his deal. And he would allow Dillon the ability to play with someone other than Burns and allow Mueller a season to develop with the Baracudda.

That's a great take.

Burns should be better this year with more confidence. Defense is an unforgiving position and you can't hide on either of the three pairings let alone a prominent top four role. What everyone needs to remember about Dillon is that he's only 24 and got thrown into a new and complete disaster of a defensive system in San Jose. I bet he'll be better this year, but I was happy with what he brought last year when he was acquired.

Agreed, Tim. I was a fan of Dillon's during his time on the Stars. He has a lot of potential. I have a feeling he'll have a really solid year for us. Doug just needs to find him the right partner, IMO.

Hey Tim, Is their any way i can use some of these wowy charts (aka advanced statistics) to see how he did with different D partners this year and previous years?

For Dillon: http://stats.hockeyanalys...m/showplayer.php?pid=1661

For Burns: http://stats.hockeyanalys...om/showplayer.php?pid=304

It won't give the charts, that you'll have to plug into excel to see visually, but it gives you the data.

Personally i think he was our second best defensive defensemen with vlasic ahead of him and third best defensemen overall with vlasic and burns ahead of him last year. Braun to me was a disappointment last year especially when he was being paired with Vlasic for most of the year. He looked better two years ago and regressed in my opinion this year.

Putting Crouse at 4-5 is a bit extreme. That means he's ahead of Marner, Strome, and/or Hanifin. Whoever said that just needs to put the crack pipe down....

They gave a non-NHL caliber D level prospect and basically a 2nd round pick(30th overall) for a depth faceoff specialist floundering on a bad team. Chicago went all in because they can. San Jose is not in their position to go all in.

Hamhuis is worth a 2nd rounder.

The thing about Crouse is, he is one of the youngest players at the draft, yet one of the most physically ready.

Central scouting ranks him 5th.

ISS has him 4th

McKenzie has him right at 7

Hockeyprospect.com has him at 8
