What you are all missing is that you are building a team and not an all-star team. Callahan was a stud 2-way center and Brown was a good two-way player as well (and a beast to play against). You need these types of guys on your 3rd line of a team. I wouldn't have thought twice if Pommer did or didn't make it.

Pretty sure he was/is a winger. And they weren't tough to play against at all. They got dominated most of the game matched up against Benn, Perry, Getzlaf. At least pominville's got the two way game and skill to keep up.

Pass on Skinner and his noggin.

Okposo, yes.

Sharp, no dicey.

Lack for 31.

Trade 21+ to move up, draft Konecny.

Cunneyworth as HC for Rochester.

keep Irbe.

Did I forget anything?

Pominville was always better than Callahan. And this isn't a knock on Callahan, it's just that Pommer was really, really good.

Saying he's a 2nd liner on a good team is a joke. He's had multiple 30 goal seasons, and a few 70+ point seasons.

Geez, I think I agree with just about everything here. My only concern would be Okposo's detached retina. Probably would pass on him for that. Same reason I would pass on Skinner and Lehner - bad noggin's. One hit away from eating apple sauce through a straw.

In 2008 I would have traded Pommer for Callahan every day of the week (and I like Pommer as much as anyone else).

Post-lockout lots of players were putting up those numbers. Once again, this isn't a knock on him. He could play on my team anytime.

In 2008 Pominville was an 80 point player.

Callahan had 40 points

You would probably be the only one

This is a perfect example of Pommer being under rated

Starting to like this less. I think there's a lot you could do with 31 that would be better for this team than trading it for Lack. I'd just take a chance on someone in FA on short term deal.

And I think Irbe is overrated. Goaltending was a product of the sabres "strategy" (5 guy collapse) this season.

Lots of different opinions on what Murray will do. He talked about trade first for a #1 and to me it's either Lack or Talbot. My fear is he wants Lehner.

Im just not sure people truly appreciate the value of that pick (including myself for a while).

Last time we picked 31 it was the final piece to massive trade. A few months ago would anyone have traded Lemieux for Lack? 31 could've been barbashev as well, doubt anyone would move him for lack either.

I like Konecky the same as you, I think he could go as high as 13 or 14. 21+51 probably doesn't cut, but 31 could.

I think it's the main reason why Murray hasn't pulled the trigger on that deal yet. The ask was a 2nd round pick and we literally have the best 2nd round pick in the league.

I mentioned yesterday I got a text saying Gringo and a 2nd for Sharp, IMO maybe that was offered due to them thinking Gringo may bolt. I don't think we need Sharp and I said that in a reply in the text and they sent back , " agreed ".

If Edm in on Cam Talbot, can't see them offering more than 33rd overall pick and, say, D-man Martin Marincin.#oilers.

http://fulltiltnyr.com/ru...k-33-and-martin-marincin/

Should the Sabres offer 31 and similar - level prospect?

Does Grigorenko have a future here?

If he is here, the 2nd line RW spot is up for grabs and it's up to him to take it and run.

Gotcha. I would agree as well. I think Sharp goes to Florida to play for his old GM Tallon.

I just think this draft falls off after 20 and if we use the pick at 31 it will be a player we won't see for 2-3 years so why not trade it for a #1 goalie. But I see your points for sure. 21 and 31 gets you to 10-15 and probably Konecny or Meier. Glad I'm not Murray.

To that I would say when has it been enough time?

If he is not ready now, based on his compete level last year in the AHL and how he looked with the Sabres at the end of the year, I would look to deal him as well.

To me it's either give him a shot as as top 9 RW or trade him.

Man that's awfully pricey for a goalie that's gonna be a UFA after this season with a small sample size. I wouldn't Gil.
