I guess the strategy is to rip landy apart to make ROR seem more valuable? Not sure how that helps the sabres case haha sure inflate his worth and add true captain material to his resume.

I'm pretty optimistic after Sakics media call, subtle things, but it seems like he has a plan. They have started to talk and playing the dance. Need to concentrate on the draft and UFA at the moment but is always talking to RORs agent apparently.

After July 1st when they can officially do an extension is when I think the talks really pick up

Sakic won't make the mistake of screwing this one up. He's smart enough to know what's best for his hockey club and he'll get the best deal done. ROR trade talks is all media driven anyway.

yeah, its the same thing that Av Fans went through with Stastny for about 3 years. When Leafs need a Centre, they look at the Avs and stir up rumours that we need to trade 1.

If the Leafs had their number 1 C in place, the talk about him would be next to nothing
