New to the boards so go easy on me here, I like kessel, I like ROR, I don't think Nash is a good fit.
I feel like Nash is akin to buying a gallon of milk and then going on vacation for 2 weeks. If we're giving up picks/ prospects it's not great asset management

- mattmoulson

Nash is much better all around player than Kessel.

I wouldn't be opposed to Kessel ppg players don't grow on trees, however his contract is like another 6 or 7 years.

Nash is actually a very complete player he also kills penalties. His contract is for 3 more years. Very cap manageable.

ROR is a good player but not one I want to pay $7 million a year for.

Glen Sather is the GM of the Rangers he doesn't exactly hold other GM's ransom for getting the most out of players, I mean he traded his captain and 2 1st rounders for Marty St. Louis. I would think you can get Nash for less than the other 2 players.

Thanks for making my point about the perponderance of older/ aging / downside/ slowing down/ lost a step/ Vets , yep about 70% of them will have the same adjectives next to their name as you listed.

How many goals does NASH pot on the Sabres Team last year?

P.S. I would love to bring NASH here for a reasonable offer IF HE WANTS TO COME....big if....

- MEBSabresFAN

the bigger question is how many goals does he put up with eichel and kane this season

I agree as well, if we di dtrade Ennis would be a tough pill to swallow as well as Zadz. ID do it but Id try lke hell to deal the other prospects first. We do have enough of them even if it meant dealign another pick. At this point Id rather have future picks as NHl bodies

Let me explain this to you in a language you can understand

The team last year with Benoit, Mezaros, Matt Ellis, and Strachan was built to do one thing LOSE.

Now let me break it down much more slowly for you...

I said IF space THE space PRICE space IS space RIGHT period.

Also lets break it down some more...Rick Nash scored more goals than everyone you mentioned COMBINED last year.

On top of that 4 of those players you mentioned will not be back this year.

Give it a rest.

- Stripes77

Last i checked, I just posted on your message, that I am fully supportive of bringing in a solid +30 player AT space THE space RIGHT space PRICE(ps not the gaolie)

Ill say again I dont need ROR. We have come the draft our future 3 Centers. I think we can find 40 points elsewhere in positions of need

When you quote a newer message first and don't read (reid) the previous messages like you did this is the reaction you get.

Yes, I agree, the only question is between posters that have an opinion to give up ENNIS or and in some casses included with BigZ

I only disagree with what we would have to give up.

I find it fascinating that posters are so riled up over a player that is not on the market to be traded, has a full NTC.

You should because that's a playoff team on paper with a goalie. I would rather Oduya than Martin though TBH.

I'd put Nash with Eichel and Kane with Reinhart in that situation

Nash goes a long way to help give us proven talent on the top line and a legit upgrade on the pp

Agreed

Moulson Eichel Nash
Kane Reinhart Ennis

With how Kane likes to carry the puck, I like it.

proven wingers are needed

I am ok flipping ROR to the wing, as long as he is extended

not gonna lie, a second line of Moulson-Reinhart-ROR would look good

Kane and Eichel would be a pain for the other team
Girgens would always be a pain for the other team

I love MARTIN pick up, I might want him up with RISTO but this is an amazing flip from last year!

Cause he was a higher touted prospect than RNH...even though he put up better numbers than Nuge in the WHL on a worse team...

I was just talking about Soupy with my cousin. The contract he got was crazy but he wouldn't be a bad guy to have now even at his age, to help the PP out.
- Stripes77

I want to agree because I love the guy.. but I don't know what he's got left to offer of significance.

if you get Martin for 3 years, it would go a long ways

Sabres can offer him a 3 year 20 mil contract, not many teams can
