There is something to be said, though, for certain people having higher expectations than others. He absolutely should be held to a higher standard than your average 19-year-old. He's in a rare position where he gets paid six figures to play a game for a living as a teenager. He does deserve all the criticism he gets for it. Now, I don't want to see him traded simply for it, but I'm not going to get on anybody's case for criticizing him and not dismissing it as nothing. It comes with the territory of being in such a high-stakes business.

I haven't heard anyone suggesting he shouldn't be held accountable for his misdeeds, just that it isn't all that suprising based upon his age, transition to NHL etc, If these misteps continue into this year, there will be hell to pay, that is why TM pulled him into his office, to try and impress upon him the importance and amount of time/money the orginization has invested into him.

This is how I feel about it too. Do I like that he's had these "issues?" No. But at the same time, I'm not about to say we should move on from the kid because he made some silly mistakes.

He didn't run anyone down with his car, get arrested, etc. The people in Chicago love Pat Kane and he did way dumber poop than Zadorov has.

Remember, "HE HASN'T PROVEN ANYTHING YET"

1. Echiel is a no-brainer

2. Kane trade was horrible becuase MYERS is our conerstone Number #1 D

3. He was mean to Theodore Nolan, Forced him with the guys from "Good Fellas" to coach a bad team that was meant to finish last, then blamed him for not understanding that the develpment of our players was a higher priority than winning a regular season game.

Sounds like a big ol' waste of (frank)in time.

Zadorov plays like Scott Stevens. No, I didn't say he's as good or will be as good as, but I think his game is very similar. So why the (frank) are we trading Zadorov for some scum bag piece of poop center that scores 50-60 points a year and adding him to our arguably strongest position on the ice, center? It's (frank)ing dumb.

STOP. TRADING. ZADOROV.

Reading HF Boards. Always a good time

Edm fans say Risto for Eberle is "Starting point" Buffalo would need to add.

Bogosian or 21 would get you close.

So it was:
Risto + 21 for Eberle.

Its not that crazy, there is value and perceived value across the league.

Eberle has more value attached to him bc of his consistent offensive production and the lure of his "clutch goal scoring"

Risto is a nice young Dman, but he hasnt established himself enough (bc of only 1 meaningful year of NHL time) that you arent just trading for his potential. Trading for Potential is always a gamble.

Perceived value bc of that is probably fair across the board with other GMs, but is it a dumb move in general, yes since it makes the Sabres worse now and long term

I don't think he was ever touted as a 1st round pick. Maybe mid-late 2nd. Not once did I see him mocked in rd 1.

But what does brains have anything to do with anything or even my last comment? I was talking about commitment, not smarts. And besides. How do we know the kid's dumb?

- TheSabresTaco

Middle of his draft year he was. He was considered a steal where we got him

No and as long as we draft Eichel and Reinhart and Risto develop I don't think it's possible he can.

However, you can have objective opinions of moves he's made. Instead of just blowing him constantly

Was just messing, but agreed. Risk V reward. He has to find out what is worth it, I have put my trust in him to do so. Even if I don't agree with his perceived values at times.

For the most part I trust his eye for talent, but the bolded I agree.

I think he will be a pretty decent GM, maybe more who knows.

I do think it's possible he can be a little Brian Burkish....He might look great here for a while but wear out his welcome......Just a hunch

BUT HES NOT UNDER 24!

In all seriousness, Nash's skill set would probably make Murray drool. Big, fast and talented

30 isn't bad but isn't great either. Depending on what the Rags want, I wouldn't absolutely hate it. But yet again, highly doubt it. He's not going to move a bunch of assets for someone that age. He's a much bigger talent than Patrick (frank)ing Sharp, and younger too. If he costs a 1st, 2nd and expendable prospect, I'd consider it. But at the same time I'd be exploring options that cost more who are younger and as talented.

What does it cost though?
Does Nash waive to come here?

It starts with 21 and an A prospect.

Nash - Eichel - Kane

That's a top line.
