Out of those add ons, maybe Lindros is ahead of Eichel, maybe. Those others wouldn't be though. Tavares and Stamkos were hyped up higher than most of the players you added as well.
- Mentalorgasm5

Every player I added was hyped to the same extent.

Its whether or not people wanna remember the hype.

Daigle was "The Next Gretzky" if you want I'll show you the Hockey News from that time frame.

I know who Daigle is. I am not talking about just hype, I am talking skill. Hard to do now, but if there was a fantasy draft with all the players since 85. Only those select few would have been taken before Eichel.

Trying to erase the memory of what players did, is hard, but I am not the only one who is saying Eichel is a top 5 prospect since 85, several experts convey the same opinion.

And I'm telling you those experts have selective memory.

That isn't a knock to Eichel just a knock against the supposed "Knowitalls".

My old man brought me home the hockey news every time a new one came out back then, I remember what was said about guys going #1. The experts always play it off like they always get it right. I knows when I'm wrong and will admit it. The experts are wrong based on what you're saying.

Not really, because you can't guarantee we would have picked Lintunieni or whoever the Kings pick at 43.

It's amazing how they blew Daigle. I remember when he was supposed to be the next one, I think he was on the level of McDavid, the hype, if I remember correctly.

You remember correctly.

He was hyped like Gretzky and Super Mario were going to be left in the dust.

It amazes me that the people that are paid to give the knowledge to the people forget history.

Had the talent but no heart to wanna play hockey.

Yashin out played him from the get go by a wide margin.

I wonder how his pre-draft interviews went? What his Junior coaches said about his love for hockey and work ethic? Did they give psych testing? Do they even do that now like the NFL? You don't hear about intelligence scores like you do at the NFL combine.

He was a glory whore. He was the epitome of if talent refuses to work hard. I think he'd rather be an agent than a hockey player. Only reason he played was that he knew he was great at it.

Yashin and he had the same rookie year.

Yashin 79 points
Daigle 51 points

When it came to ROY Ottawa was pushing for voters to give it to Daigle.

Someone with zero knowledge would say Yashin over Daigle.

Hockey IQ is a huge assessment tool.

I'm talking about Wonderlic Tests, not hockey IQ which is hugely important but if you are a bumbling idiot tied to neuro/psych evaluation it could show motivation.

I find IQ tests like wonderlic sad.

Cam Newton has a wonderlic of a baboon, he's a pretty good football player.

Tough to say. You've gotta wonder if the interviewing process has vastly improved to hopefully weed some of those guys out.

Sure taken as a whole but I'm just wondering if there were any red flags in his evaluations. That is one part of a 30 for 30 that I'd be curious about. Interview some scouts/GM's at the time and hear what they have to say.

last 13 2nd overall picks, where would you rank Reinhart on this list?

- Sabresfan-365

How is it even remotely possible to know where he ranks without seeing how he plays for not just a season, but seasons first?

Unless there is some magical way to automatically wipe the memory of each players performance after they were drafted, this is a totally useless exercise unless there is a crystal ball lying around to consult, or time machine, or a DeLorean.

In no order but since 1985 you're missing a ton of guys and the hype they had behind them at the time. Like big time either forgetting/don't know.

Hell the hype behind Angelo Esposito the year prior to his draft was out of this world and he dropped like a 2 dollar whore.

- dadeadhead

And what do you know about $2 whores ?

Just curious..

And leave my family out of this...
