How can you say they are bad picks after 1 year? Who knows what those guys will be
- Fattony1187

It's too early to tell for sure, but neither took a nice step forward this year like we hoped they would
Still tbd though
I though Karabacek was a reach when we took him
Decent skill set, but just hasn't really produced
But there's also no hurry for him to develop with all these forwards we have ahead of him
He can play another year in juniors, and then develop in Rochester for 3-4years to improve his game.
So I'm not exactly throwing in the towel,
I just haven't been impressed either

Also kessel gave 8 teams he will accept a trade.

Montreal, philly, Pitt, NYR, Boston, Chicago, LA and ninny

Looks like Toronto fans won't get their wet dream of a top 5 pick or some teams former top 5 pick for kessel. I could maybe see philly out of those teams but not what Toronto fans were looking to see

- Fattony1187

The Leafs will have to eat half his salary, and even then most of those teams will have to make significant moves to fit Kessel...
IF they even want him

Toronto might be pretty screwed here

He's never getting moved if he sticks with that list.

Tough list. All teams that have high caps. People are known to waive the clause though (gorges)

I think he'll be moved, just not to one of those teams.

Maybe Montreal, but otherwise, yeah he'll refine his list, hopefully not for a team with a top 15 pick.

This. That said, the return has to be at least somewhat diminished. They absolutely need to move him at whatever cost so they can bottom out. I have this strange feeling that they won't go all the way and will end up being mediocre for another decade.

That was the list of teams last summer, he's allowed to re submit every year. My guess is half those teams are off it now.

If im being harsh i have him 8th or 9th. It'd be easy for me to say i'd take him over say lehtonen but I imagine for a goalie to go that high there must've been a lot of hype around him.
- Sabresfan-365

I agree, I would say he is probably 2nd last on that list, only ahead of Lehtonen.

I think that's too harsh, probably have him ahead of some of the wingers there.

We may need to at some point unless Zadorov or McCabe overachieve.

blank-Risto

Zadorov-Bogosian

McCabe-Pysyk

- Sabresfan-365

I am in the minority, but I like Zadorov more than Risto.

I can see both Risto and Zadorov as the top pairing. McCabe(nice two way defender who has some skill with the puck) with Bogo(nasty), and then Pysyk with TBD UFA or developed play such as Brycen Martin.

I am still a little mad we didn't take Roland McKeown in the 2nd round last year, I like him.

Eichel is 2nd to no one. Since Lemieux, I would rank the prospects as the following:

Lemieux
McDavid
Crosby
Ovechkin
Eichel

Lemieux
Lindros
Turgeon
Sundin
Nolan
Nedved
Daigle
Thornton
Lecavalier
Kovalchuk
McDavid
Crosby

Kane
Taveres
Stamkos
Hall
Yak(even though I called him a bust from the get go)
Eichel

In no order but since 1985 you're missing a ton of guys and the hype they had behind them at the time. Like big time either forgetting/don't know.

Hell the hype behind Angelo Esposito the year prior to his draft was out of this world and he dropped like a 2 dollar whore.

Out of those add ons, maybe Lindros is ahead of Eichel, maybe. Those others wouldn't be though. Tavares and Stamkos were hyped up higher than most of the players you added as well.
