2011-12 season (Rookie Season) 62 games played 18g, 34A for 52pts.

This is where I season Reinhart this year on this rebuilding team.

- sskkoo1

If that's the case in a full season he would be at 68 points. No chance in hell Reinhart sniffs anywhere near that this season.

RNH was the consensus top pick in that draft...Reinhart wasn't even the consensus top forward last year....

Why would Reinhart be the 2c when we have eichel and girgensons. I see him as the 3c next season.

True but we have a hole at RW for this season and like in Michael's blog the order is going Bap, Bailey, Fash, Rodriguez. None of which are NHL ready or even have played a single professional game at the AHL level. We need someone on the second line RW for this year. Will pick 21 be part of a trade for that? Will Grig or Hodgson be part of that? But someone needs to fill that hole.
- sskkoo1

We'll fine warm bodies to play wing and goalie this year until the real guys are ready. No need to worry about trying to fill them in the short term.

True. And I'm not saying Reinhart would get anywhere near 68 pts. I think 55pts would be max. And I think he should spend more time in Rochester. But in the hypothetical scenario of "How good could he be? How many pts can he actually get?" than I would have to say him playing an 82 game season at 2C with two top 6 wingers (Kane, Ennis, Moulson, X-factor) than it's not out of the realm of possibilities that he hits that mark.

I have been saying this for months. People seem to think trading for young stars are easy.

It absolutely isn't out of the realm of possibilities, but I give it a 5% chance. Unless there are injuries, he is your 3c. Playing with guys like foligno and gionta, I give it a much much higher possibility of him putting up less than 30 points.

I agree. My only point was going back to an earlier point I made and that was I would like to see Grigorenko fill a top 6 RW spot for this season since it's only going to be a season of growth and evaluation anyways. At the very least we can finally see what this kid can do and if he is not in GMTM plans maybe we can increase his stock for a future trade.

I agree. 3C with Foligno and Gionta than 30 pts is much more likely a target for Reinhart. I was only commenting on what I think his max possibilities are given him at a top 6 center position with top line mates, Ice time, offensive zone starts, etc.

Where he's more often than not playing against the oppositions 3rd pairing D. If he's with Larsson, the two of them could very well cause some damage against a teams 3rd pair.

I'm not saying he's going to put up RNH numbers, but I think you're underselling him a bit as well.

Fun fact Reinhart outscored RNH in the WHL in the season of his draft class and the year prior. Actually he had 1 less point in 9 less games. So a RNH season is def doable for Reinhart. I know I know facts mean nothing here.

The interesting part about someone saying that RNH was the consensus #1 and that Reinhart wasn't even the consensus #1 forward is that the RNH draft was considered to be very weak too. So it's not like he's being compared to McDavid. It's the complete opposite in fact.

Sure, that makes sense. Unlike the other guy about to be bought out he did respond last year and if there is ever a time to let him show what he can do it would be now.

If he stays 55pts. 15g 40A

I think thats a tad high for him. Drouin, despite all the post about him yesterday, was a more highly touted prospect and played on a much better team than the Sabre will have this year, and only managed 32 his rookie year.

Two different types of players though. Drouin is the type of guy that's super skilled. Reinhart is a guy that's super smart. It's hard to say what Reinhart is going to do until we know how the rest of the lineup shakes out though.

He also wasn't the consensus #1 till late in the year. Early in the year Couturier was the clear cut #1 and by mid-way through it was a three horse race between nuge, larsson and landeskog.

People also like to mention how Reinhart was the #2 pick and not the #1 pick, but that really was just how the pieces fell. Florida won the lottery and needed more help on the backend, so they took Ekblad. Had we had the #1 pick, it wouldn't have changed the outcome of who we took, because Murray wanted Reinhart all along.

Almost glad they didn't, could you imagine the uproar from fans if they had sent the #1 pick back to junior

That's tough. Based on how highly touted each were coming out I'd say he's around the middle of the pack

If im being harsh i have him 8th or 9th. It'd be easy for me to say i'd take him over say lehtonen but I imagine for a goalie to go that high there must've been a lot of hype around him.
