This is why I feel like Kane jumped the gun. He could have won his 3rd cup, and went into the off-season landing a bigger contract with buffalo, and the opportunity to be a hometown hero.

Why would he leave such a good thing? He could ride this train for another decade or longer. I wouldn't leave if I were him. You see it time after time in sports - a guy leaves a great situation for more money or to be "the guy" and it never ends well.

Gotta Give it up for the Surprise effort Richards showed after being ridiculed and dumped, perfect place for him at his age, but WOW did he step up, he WANTED this to Bookmark his career,

Crawford.......WOW Just WOW 6 Million seems pretty goood......just not now...

Hossa - I stated on here that in the first round I felt he really had dropped a step, I was corrected by a poster who suggested a few opinions and I changed my view as he just kept skating when I didn't think he could keep up with some of the young TB players, he impressed and

TOEWS well, he was simply TOEWS!!!

I said a few months back that i would rather have TOEWS than Crosby when you take everything into the equation, Crosby is more talented, I like TOEWS more. Just like I always LIKED MESSIER more than Gretz

if he really wants to play in buffalo he might still get a chance when this contract is up.. but for now he is going to be in a bigger city playing for a better team and probably for the same amount of money

No, it's crazy how many people can't see what the plan is and how some people won't fit in that plan because of their age. It isn't any more complicated than that.
- Slump Buster

When a guy has a short contract, age isn't anywhere near the factor people make it out to be.

It's absolutely mind-boggling how foreign the concept is that shorter contracts are incredibly valuable if you can get a hold of them.

I am all for getting Nash, but like everything else, only if the cost is appropriate.

Well, of course, but if you have to say that a 40 goal scorer with 3 years or less left on his contract, if you can get him at a reasonable cost, doesn't fit your "plan", then your "plan" probably isn't a very good one at all.

I think you two need to get a room or something. Let me clarify so this can get brought up again in a week but until then no more talk about this.

Broads doesn't hate Callahan. He hates his contract.
It's that simple. You need Callahan types to win the Cup. But paying a guy like him the money he is making at he current age would not help the Sgtabres with the lack of talent and inexperience they had coming into this season.

I wouldn't be adverse to trading the 21st pick, Phil Varone, Jeff Jillson and the locker room fridge for Talbot and Nash.

I saw something about Edmonton being in on Talbot. Because goaltending is totally their problem.

Sounds like it'll be us, Edmonton and San Jose duking it out for the goalies.

Honestly, I'd be fine with us signing Niemi. We have a lot in the system and at some point one of them is going to pan out, so we really just need a stop gap. I think he could fit nicely.

No but broads did. That's his big hang up on Cally. You think he hates him which he doesn't. He hates the contract.

You wouldn't mind paying him $6 million a year broads and a lot of us have an issue with it. Again it's not the player it's the contract.

Moving on.

i wouldn't mind that either.. that way we don't have to give anything up.. but i have liked what i have seen in Darling, but i can't see chicago giving him up while still having a year or two (?) on his ELC

Sounds like Philly for the most part. They always seem to blame the goalie. Bob got shuffled out of Philly faster than he knew what hit him. Probably better off anyway in Columbus. He's been stellar for them.

That's the win now plan, with a core of young stars. The minute those old guys become part of your core, you're up poop creek.
