Cool thanks dude. I think Friedman tweeted that out the other day and I made a smart ass post about it. If nothing else, speculation is fun.

What does it cost though?
Does Nash waive to come here?

It starts with 21 and an A prospect.

Nash - Eichel - Kane

That's a top line.

Friedman: Watch Sabres on Possible Nash Trade
- Carubba-Kaleta

Only if they eat 2 Million of his cap or take Cody Hodgson!

Trading for an aging, 8 Million , until 2018, I'm not helping out NY's irresponsible spending habits!

Not a bad player at all, but going in the wrong age direction. It would totally depend upon what they would require to rid themselves of his Contract, that's why they want to trade him in the first place, so lets not pretend it doesn't matter, I wouldn't think they would accept what I would offer. If they don't eat ANY of his contract or take Hodgson, then they get Pick #21 plus one lower wing prospect or I hang up phone and let another team over pay.

- ImThatGuy

Nash is a top 5 winger, and possibly a top 20 overall player in the league.

It will cost Zadorov++ (IMO)

Nash and Oduya make us a pretty decent team

Well I mean besides the Rags not issuing him his current contract, yeah I'm on board with this thought. Not sure I would offer his true value to the Rags.

30 isn't bad but isn't great either. Depending on what the Rags want, I wouldn't absolutely hate it. But yet again, highly doubt it. He's not going to move a bunch of assets for someone that age. He's a much bigger talent than Patrick (frank)ing Sharp, and younger too. If he costs a 1st, 2nd and expendable prospect, I'd consider it. But at the same time I'd be exploring options that cost more who are younger and as talented.
- TheSabresTaco

Love how our trade offers are almost mirror images, and I just read yours after posting mine....

Its all about what they want, I don't know how many teams can afford him , so I don't see the price being to high. I would think they might be able to higher value at the trade deadline, with a team that has a LTIR player and then he has only 2 yrs left.

Nash could end up being our Hossa in a few years. Not expected to carry the team but an amazing compliment to Eichel/Kane/Reinhart

Wow......So Nash and Oduya bring us close to playoffs over the next two years, then they go to pasture and when we need him, the Young Big-Z is tearing it up in the Big Apple!

Can this talk slow the eff down. Zadorov is a great prospect, no doubt. But he is just that, a prospect. He has not proven he is top line D-man just yet.

He needs to make it through a season without getting benched before he starts tearing anything up...

In that situation

Risto is your #1
Bogo is your #2
Pysyk is your #3
McCabe turns out to be your #4

Losing Zadorov only hurts if McCabe doesn't pan out.

Why would so many teams WANT a questionable prospect that hasn't proven anything for a top 5 winger in the league?????

Because he is 19, has a very high ceiling, the other guy is good, over 30, 8 Million, when the tough get going Nash gets gone

I don't know how much i would give up for Nash. He is good, but his age and inconsistencies play a factor for me.

So we have Eberle for Risto+ or Nash for Big-Z+, I am Nash all day long.

Everyone calm down. Nash isn't going to waive his NTC to come to Buffalo. He demanded a trade from Columbus for a reason. Why in gods name would he waive to come to a team that finished dead last in the league the last 2 years?

It's not happening.

High ceiling doesn't mean he will get there.

How many Sabres had more points than Nash had goals last season?

That would be 1...

He sees that Eichel and Reinhart were drafted. The team is on the rise. He would probably become the C.

Sees Kane on his other side. Ownership is now different, different vibe.

A lot of reasons to think about it.

First, Eberle for RISTO is a JOKE being dreamed of by Edmonton's FAN Boys, NEVER HAPPEN

Second, Zadorov for Nash, is within reason if we we had made the playoffs and were close to making a run.

Sabres D-Men Stable aren't being stolen by anyone. The Peg is lucky they didn't like KANE!

Thanks buzz killington, how about you keep it to yourself then. How can you be so certain he wouldn't wanna play with kane and eichel.

Right common sense, that right there is a dumb comment. You or anyone on here knows nothing about what any player is thinking. How many buzzards know Rick personnally?

In 2 more years, I'd agree. But as of right now, he's saying "Hell no."

So nobody wants to pay ROR 7 mill with a contract extension but we will take on Nash and his almost 8 mill price tag ?

Who says Nash will even waive to come here ? He's not doing that.
