We'd be going all Oily if we traded Risto for Drouin.

but he hasn't done anything close to what Risto has done, not even close.
- SABRES 89

I tried 89. some just prefer to not give a Top Sabres Prospect turned pro his due, no negativity meant towards Jon Drouin, I love him as a player.

My pt was that Risto - Keith - Weber - Hedman - Chara - thats just a few but I could list another 20-30 of the type of RISTO's projected future.

Defense is expected to take longer for Young D, as the position is more complex and so vital to being consistent. These types are worth DOUBLE the value of equally talented wingers, its just the value of the position. Same as Big, Talented, Fast Centermen are worth TRIPLE the talented Winger. Do you understand my comparison?

I agree with what you're saying except for the gap in value. This would be like saying shea weber is worth two patrick kanes

Are you suggesting that the 15 Top Number #1 Defensemen with muti-faceted skill set are not valued at Double that of a Strong Winger?

You're not actually suggesting that Druoin has equal value on the market as RISTO?????

Haha go back to reading hockeys future, an amateur scouting site, and tell everyone how much better the sabres prospects are compared to any other team.

Dude? Where are you getting your comprehension of my post?

Please explain what I stated that is not considered true?

What is a 15 top number 1 defensemen? Some type of category you made up? Ristolainen is not a top dman yet, not by a long shot. Already counting chickens before they hatch. *cough* Tyler Myers *cough*

Simply put, young developed multi-faceted top 2 pairing Defensemen have a muh higher market value of that of Equally talented wingers I don't know wether you can't understand this simple known fact around the NHL.

Myers at least did something at the NHL level first.

Just watching Keith and Hedman, Ristolainen has a ways to go to be close to that level

Risto still has a lot of growing to do. But so does Drouin. And at this point, I don't think it would be wise to make a trade of Risto for Drouin. I think it would hurt us more than it would help us.

I agree, but when someone is calling ristolainen a top dman, I had to use that as an example.

And his trade prosposal of ristolainen for drouin and johnson, absolutely delusional.

I was more or less referring to the incredible depth the Hawks have. Kruger would probably be a 3rd liner on most of the teams in the league, but on the Hawks, he's on the 4th line. I hope to be that type of team someday.

He said ristolainen would net johnson and Drouin. It's a stretch that either team would do ristolainen for drouin, let alone Tampa including johnson too.

It's taken Hedman years to show his true potential. I think we can muster a little more patience with Risto than 2 30th overall years. he looked really good the last half of last year. I didn't follow Keith's early years but I'm sure it took him some time to develop as well.

I never suggested that it was a trade that would or could happen, just estimating RISTO's Value, it was meant to explain the difference in value based upon position rather than the actual players named.

My apologies, Tyler Johnson as a Centermen of his skill set would be at about 90% Of Riso's Value based on him being a Centermen. If he come up with a year as consistent as Risto's was on Defense, but do it as a Centermen I would consider them of Equal Value based upon Teams strengths and weakneses.

Saying his value is Tyler Johnson and Drouin, but that's not a trade suggestion makes no sense.

Yea I'm with you, it's just tough for me to say right now that Risto is the next great NHL defensemen. I love the kid and wouldn't trade him for 90% of the players in this league but it's just way too early to say he's a top 15 guy

You can't argue this FACT

RISTO is currently worth MORE than DROUIN and it isn't even close.

P.S. Risto is "OUTPERFORMING" his draft value while Drouin has played below or progressing slower than expected from his draft position.

What Say You?

This isn't true. Like I said earlier, Drouin was one of the league leaders in points per 60 minutes at even strength. Problem is his team is loaded and he's young so he didn't get a ton of opportunity.

Same thing would have happened to Risto if he were on the Hawks, he'd never crack the top 4 as a 20 year old

That's not a fact. That's an opinion.
