Krejci pisses me off. The talent is there, and hes done some great things for this team, but theres just no energy to his game. Just not my kind of player.

I think looch would ask for 6 but probably take somewhere between 5-5.5 to stay here. For that I keep him. When he's on his game, like I said, he can be a game changer. Not a lot of those kinds of players, especially on this team. Stewart/Kassian are massive downgrades

Lucic is going to take a pay cut? I don't think so. Guy has one more deal left in him. Why would he take a pay cut when he thinks he can get $8 mill on the open market? Lucic is terrible and needs a change of scenery, everyone knows it. He was going through the motions for the majority of last season. I can't wait for the day till Lucic isn't a Bruin anymore.

Ya it is, that's why I wasn't... I was saying contract wise its stupid.

But they aren't comparable situations. Clarkson was what, 28, and coming off the one truly offensively productive season of his entire career?

Hamilton is a young, former top 10 pick who's shown nothing but a positive career trajectory. Investing big money in him is wise. Investing big money in David Clarkson who had one good season at nearly 30 years of age, in a contract year, was horrific.

You're right. There's no way the Flames consider this. The Flames need a left shooting left wing player who doesn't skate, like they need a hole in the head. The Flames priority needs are a 6'5" 215 lbs, right hand shooting top 4 D-man (preferably 21-22 years old) and a right hand shooting, hard skating, skilled scoring RW.
The Flames need Lucic right where he is, holding the Bruins up tight against the cap. We will trade you next year's 1st, 2nd, and 3rd pick for Dougie Hamilton; right after he signs a 7 year $45.5M offer sheet.

You thought that trade proposal was funny on the Oilers thread check out this one from the first page of it;

Trade proposal idea for Hamilton:

16th + Marincin (+ Yakupov if needed). Thoughts?

Full jabroni or half jabroni?

gets better this was the reply;

Slight Jabroni. Seems like an over pay for Hamilton. Maybe change that 1st to a 2nd round pick if Yak is involved too.

Remember Doughty's contract. When he signed that one everyone was like holy poop....a few years later and he appears rather under paid.

Let's just make sure we're not painting all Oilers fans with the same brush. All fan bases have their special fans.

I don't think anyone besides some Leaf fans thought Clarkson was going to look underpaid in a few years.

Of course. We all do ours included still funny none the less. I'm guessing it's going to take a little more.

That doesn't mean it would be the same for Hamilton. Who has big holes in his defensive game and does not hit. If I am Sweeney I try to convince him to sign a bridge deal and take the risk.

EDIT: Dougie also being aware of the current situation the team is in purposely making it worse. (frank)ing douche, way to play for the team.

Nah.lthey either lose him to an offer sheet or clear salary elsewhere.....regardless they are gonna be liquidating at least 1 salary off the books at bargain base,net prices. Or not. Who knows, maybe Nashville gives up a 1st for Krejci?

Really? Honestly haven't watched him play a ton of games but he was pretty physical in the games I did watch.

Well that's the thing. Its not going to be a desperation move with Hamilton as far as a trade goes if it happens. Someone else is going to go before him and if he does go he's not going to be given up for a mid round pick and Marincin.

I wouldn't think so neither. If you threaten the offer sheet, but made an offer as a courtesy, it should at least equal the compensation, no?

Well I doubt that happens in the real world? (frank) it just offer sheet him and pay less why dance around it? As we all know there's a lot of potential for that to happen with the Oilers doing it and it makes it even more interesting with Chiarelli as your new GM. The question is does Hamilton accept the offer?
