Poirier and Wotherspoon is probably a fair return for Lucic, but it's still more than I'd want to pay... this isn't quite the same as a Mike Richards trade, but I'm still not a huge fan of giving up 2 of our most promising prospects for him. |

Lucic is a rare breed in todays NHL, a mean sonuvafemale dog who can put up 50+ pts, there arent many like him. However $7mill a year with his recent play, that is a hard pill for a team to swallow. Would love him on the Isles th is upcoming season, but if he commanded more than 5.5 per the season after then nevermind |

it all depends on Looch's wrist IMO. If its so bad he cant fight anymore, or snap a wrist shot for that matter, maybe time to move him. I always thought he should play a more espo like roll, park in front of the net, and hammer home the juicy rebound. |

Vermette fetched a first rounder and a D prospect at the deadline.
Chris Stewert a second rounder. Jagr was a second I think....?
Lucic would not fetch the moon, but would get you more then those three.......probably more than those first two combined.
Not saying it is worth it, but someone would give a good package. Maybe a younger team that is on the bubble of being a playoff team........like a Colorado or Calgery or Edmonton. |

I don't see Edmonton or Colorado giving up any kind of package with the forwards they have on their rosters. Both teams need defence not offence. |

Hopefully your manager feels the same way. - Cptmjl
I really hope so to.
A team that won a lot of games due to teamwork and chemistry doesn't need that attitude in the mix. Even if he has the credentials that they need (gritty, can shoot).
Hes LW to. If he was a RHS RW it would make it harder to say no. |

Fartkowski and Looch for Gio - eichiefs9
Deal. Brian Gionta would look good in a Bruins jersey. |

I mean a young bubble team that needs vets with grit and experience. Not sure on exactly what team it may be but those teams fit those guidelines......a team like those. |

And that's with playing with a pretty good center too. Krejci is really underrated. |

He's not getting close to 8m. He's played himself right out of a contract like that, I'd be surprised if someone commits more than 5m at this point. He has baggage. |

Flames, Dallas, Florida, NY Islanders, and Pittsburgh are just a few. Lucic is a pretty rare talent and people would like to have him. |

I would love to add Lucic. But I don't like the Porrier component to this. I would rather give them Wotherspoon, Reinhart & maybe one of our 2nd rounders or Wotherspoon & Klimchuk. Thing is, if Lucic fits great, we give him a healthy extension but if things fail to mesh, he definitely has better value at the TDL. Would love to see him & Bennett play together with maybe Ferland. What a fun line that would be to watch. |

Unfortunately for the B's, they are not in a position to ask for too much. I'd rather CGY held on to Poirier and Wotherspoon. |

I don't think we can afford to give up Wotherspoon. He's our top D prospect and we are thin, very thin, in that area. |

Just get rid of Chara and all their cash problems are solved. - Pecafan Fan
Good riddance. Thank you.
Why is this so hard for people to understand? Sure it would take a big hit to our defense core, but we have a bad defense core with or without him. He takes up way too much money for what he brings to the table, AND HE WILL BE DONE IN 3 YEARS, absolute tops.
Get a return on defense for him, whether it be a prospect or two, a roster player, or picks. With that, we can resign dougie and quaider, RFAs spoons and BC and still have some wiggle room with the cap to add to the backend or get some much needed help up front. Start to rebuild the backend. Dougie, Torey, Morrow is a good start, and I think we should grab a defenseman with the 14thpick (Chabot, Werenski, Zboril) That's very solid in a couple years. It was ugly back there this season even with Chara, so it should be a no brainer to move on from him.
We can't afford to lose Looch. He is a one of a kind player and our emotional leader. Not to mention he was one of our best players down the stretch. Once he was put with the kids he was a different player. Shouldn't be playing with krejci (who btw only had 7 goals this season and nobody says a (frank)ing word about him). We need to hang n to Looch and I truly belive he'd take a discount to stay here. |
