Golden State putting it on James and the Cavs!

It was bound to happen, the longer the series goes, the more exhausted the Cavs short bench becomes.

James has been totally human tonight and looks exhausted.......Cleveland fans filing out early

Cleveland's saving grace might be that extra day in between games.

The Vancouver Canucks will not trade Bo Horvat.
GM Jim Benning notes that the Canucks are "comfortable at No. 23" in this month's Entry Draft, but that doesn't mean they're going to sit back and see who, or what, comes to them. It's just that Horvat isn't going anywhere. "We're just starting to get some depth now with our young prospects and I don't want to give any of them up," Benning continued. The Canucks surprised many by making the playoffs last season, and they first have a goalie surplus "problem", if you wish to call it that, to solve. Benning also said that he's "going to try and recover a second-round pick." Perhaps he can fill two nests with one egg in trading either Jacob Markstrom or Eddie Lack.

I would without a doubt give up a 2nd for Lack.

Hockey analytics show Patrick Sharp's scoring dropped as role changed
http://www.chicagotribune...-0612-20150612-story.html

For those who advocate for the Sabres to trade for him they may like this; for those like myself who don't as it describes his game when he is on it sounds like another Matt Moulson. "Working off of the carry never has been the most effective part of Sharp's game, so it is easy to see why his timing has not found its way back yet.
With more time to find their cycle game, this line could allow Sharp to get back to a finisher role."

Difference between him and Moulson is speed, and length of contract.

A 33 year old cycler who doesn't use what speed he has off the rush well.

I'm not going out on a very long limb saying he won't be a Sabre anytime soon.

And I won't lose any sleep over it.

The issue is just making top 6 forwards appear out of thin air.

If you are signing a UFA, you most likely are overpaying in term, and salary.
I really don't want a 34 year old Justin Williams on a 4 or 5 year deal.

If you are trading for a young star, you are giving up a ton of valuable assets

I'd consider the Islanders second, not 31

Ramos can be had for cash, a better option IMO

nope, no desire on a long term deal, then in year 3, he is taking a third line spot from a kid and is on the decline and making the team slower

I wasn't a fan of giving Moulson that many years, same goes for Gionta

when it goes, it goes quick, look at Mike Richards, and he isn't even that old

That's still open for assessment. It's unfortunate some are still limp towards the 2nd pick in the draft and besides what he did in the World Juniors has not given us reason for arousal. Like religion and God we must make a leap of faith.

And thats where value deals are huge.

We aren't at the stage where guys like Brad Richards or Christian Ehrhoff will turn down 3-4 year deals from other teams to come chase a cup on a 1 year cap friendly deal

I am amazed at how fans have suck low expectations for him because of the new toy

I got laughed at for suggesting 50 points in the NHL this season, 65 points would not shock me

even adding the twins from this draft, he is still a top 5 prospect coming into the game this season IMO

And that happens if the player you are going for is worth it. 33 yr old has beens to fill in spots was done by Dary when he was too afraid to act.

Nope, which is why a few upgrades that make sense need to be targeted this off season so 12 months from now, 1 year deals are obtainable

grab eberle

sign a martin on a 3 year deal and get a quality goalie and the plane is ready for take off IMO

I was limp before I think I ever heard of Eichel. But like I said It's like a leap of faith now. I hope it turns out and he gets 50 pts this year.

Now there's a name nobody's mentioned going after.

I'd give him a 10-year deal.

Not sure who saw the Cody Hodgson BO article on WGR, but Matt Collar's using math instead of opinion, so it's not bad.

http://www.wgr550.com/Sho...buy-out-Hodgson-/21625288

I still remain at 75% chance a BO occurs.
