I don't hate Oshie, but do you really think he's a top line player?
- HonkFortheGoose

No, but how many Topline RWers are available that wouldnt decimate your current farm system or prospects.

I dont think Eberle is available, if he is, wont be cheap.
Kessel...dont think he waives to go to Buffalo
Sharp could be, but if the Hawks win, i bet he wants to stay for another run with this core since he has a NTC

Guys with Bad contracts like Semin and Brown are bound to be moved... but are junk and not Top 6 players at the moment.

Now you are back into the Eriksson,Vrbata territory. And they are just meh as well

Heard there were rumors Backes might be the one to go in St Louie.

He's the only one I'd go for via realistic trade.

When Reinhart gets 50 points with the Sabres next season, I am going to be a total d!ck on here

just giving everyone a heads up, it's coming

- homiedclown

People fail to realize the huge jump "elite" players make between their first year (18 years old) and 2nd. I seem to remember Stamkos struggling mightily as an 18 year old. confirmed - 46 pts in 79 games as an 18 year old then 95 in year 2. Now, Reinhart isn't Stamkos, but, I do think we can expect to see 45-55 points from him. Another lesson we can learn from this - I wouldn't be surprised if Reinhart has similar or more points than Eichel in 2015/2016. Reinhart was the best player in the Juniors tournament this year, better than Eichel, better than McDavid, better than Domi.

Hes a punk, watched him enough vs the Avs and he plays so dirty. Plus he has a NTC, cant see him leaving Blues as their captain

We have been down this road before.

Putting these wingers with the centers we (Presumably) have would elevate their games.

Getting Oshie allows your top wingers to be Kane, Moulson, Oshie, Ennis.

They don't have to be elite, they just have to be competent at goal scoring. Which being put with Centers as such, they can do.

Also Oshie wont cost nearly as much as Backes/Steen would.

Oshie? I think he has low value right now and Blues might desperate to mix things up

Putting him with an Elite Center or a Darn good number 2 can make him produce like one.

Build from the Center position out. You don't think Crosby would kill for the wingers of Moulson,Kane,Ennis,Oshie?

Oshie has been a consistent 50 point player the last 4 years.

Shortened season he averaged .666 which = ~54 points per 82 games played.

Let's assume that Murray can't make a trade for a top 6 winger, who would you rather try there Hodgson or Grigorenko?

I would rather play Grigo there as he has proven he can play center effectively and may be able to swap in for Reinhart on his strong side.

- thatsapickle

I'd absolutely take Grigs over Hodgson. His ceiling is much higher.

Sure, and the same reason they want to get rid of him as the same reason I don't want him. He isn't terrible... I just think that in the long run we can do better.

Not all of us feel like he's going to do poorly. I've maintained all along that whether or not he starts in Buffalo or Rochester is going to depend on how he looks in development camp and training camp. Based on how he looked in Rochester to finish the year, it appears they're planning on slotting him in on the Buffalo roster, but if he has a poor camp for whatever reason, that could change.

That said, he most likely will start the season in Buffalo.

Murray said just today how Reinhart's strength has improved.

The premise should have read "if someone will take Hodgson... he's gone". There is no Hodgson v Anyone else discussion.

Love that site. The developers are very receptive to their viewers. I've already requested to add like 3 items and they actually did it. Very cool.

A) Do we know they even want to get rid of him?

B)Meaning what? Who can we acquire that is going to, "in the long run be better."

Voracek is a UFA in 2016. Let Philly mess up their cap situation some more so they cant afford him

Linus Ullmark is definitely ahead of Makarov on the depth chart. Cal Peterson is about to jump him. Jonas Johansson will soon follow...especially since he's Murray's only goalie, that he drafted.

I think Ullmark is going to be a stud in the NHL within 3-4 years.

I'd be shocked if they didn't extend him this summer.

Oshie might or might not be a good addition here, only scored 20 goals 1 time and that's what I keep thinking about.

I'll trade you Corey Crawford, prospect Nick Schmaltz, and Kris Versteeg for Girgensons, Deslauries, and your 2016 2nd round pick.

You need proven goaltending, veteran leadership, and scoring depth and we need cap relief, depth grinders, and a young 2C. Additionally, with the 2nd pick overall Girgensons is easily replaced with Eichel. What say you?!

I think they do too, but they are in cap hell and no one is coming off the books for the 2016-17 season.

They have Voracek & Schenn as a UFA, Schenn & Couturier as RFAs. They are so screwed if they cant move Vinny or Umberger. If not they will have to move guys like Simmonds or Read just to afford those 4 guys (Schenns are meh but they will keep them)
