Holy poop, what the frank did I miss last night?

Here is my thought (not that any of you asked) on the goaltending situation.

I would rather make a move for a guy like Lack than Gibson. Lack is more of a known. With the pipeline the Sabres have in the next 4-5 years the odds are one of those goalies will pan out. If you could get Lack for 51st I would do it. I would also do it if you could swap Foligno. If Lack turns out to be your full time starter it is a huge win. If he is only a back up I still think its a win as he is a very capable back up.

As far as Callahan goes. It's not the player I don't like it is his contract.

As far as Sharp goes I think he played his best game in a long time last night. He should break the scoring draught. It might not be in GMTM's plan and he would probably not waive to come here, but there are worse options. He wouldn't cost a lot and he wouldn't really be taking any of the young players spot as we still have a need for a top 6 RWer.

sharp can play both wings if they wanted to roll three lines and drop moulson to the 3rd line

He can also play center.

It's a GIANT help if both Eichel and Reinhart are not ready for the pivot and was the main reason I think Murray should inquire. Perfect stop gap to insulate the top 6.

Even if you only need him for a year or two, there's always the option to move him again before the end of his current deal. If the price is right, I'd do it.

Agreed.

There is nothing wrong with acquiring a player on the cheap for the short term. Especially if it helps the future of the franchise develop properly.

Murray is absolutely right in wanting to acquire good talent under 25. He would be doing the team a disservice if he didn't at least inquire as to how cheap he could get Sharp.

They threw the rookies to the wolves once, lets not do it again.

He can play his two years, if he's still able to score 12-17 goals in two years, see if he takes a 1 or 2 year extension to play in the bottom 6 on a team pushing for a cup (hopefully)

why do I feel like weeks ago you were saying you wanted nothing to do with Sharp? It may have been someone else, but for some reason I thought it was you.

He traded a 2nd for Josh Gorges. I would imagine you would need at least as much for Patrick Sharp.
- buffalofan19

I tend to agree with you, but...

Sharp - 33 years old ($5.9m cap hit)
Gorges - 29 years old (when traded for, 2nd in 2016, 2 years after the trade, $3.9m cap hit)

So Sharp is older and the idea is to give Blackhawks cap relief. So I don't know that a 3rd (hopefully not Sabres, so we have option of signing RFA) or two 3rd's may get the conversation started, maybe throw in a prospect with a 3rd?

If that's what Chicago wants, they can look elsewhere. They're not really in a position of strength being that they're in serious cap trouble.

Maybe they will help him. Tied down and less "running around with random women". Not that he did the before, but yea.

And now he will have a woman that wants his NHL career to be the best it can and for as long as it can (getting paid!)

I would not take a goalie in the 1st. Yes with the 31st if the top guy is still there. If our second 1st rounder is used and not traded, I would hope to take either Brandon Carlo or Jeremy Roy. Both have been ranked from 15-25 depending on where you look, and either would shore up or d depth or at least give us room to to use another d-man in a trade.
