I don't know how you could say that Zads ceiling isn't a #1 guy. He has all of the physical tools you could ask, he is aggressive and he is physical.
- Slump Buster

Is this going to result back to the "Punches people in the face" argument from long ago.

Zadorov while he is good, needs a hell of a lot of work and schooling to become a top 2 guy.

His attitude will need a major adjustment too.

Sabres should target victor hedman in the offseason. Love to see him in the blue and gold and be everything we wanted myers to be.

Hodgson, mccabe and a couple 2nds?

Overpayment. McCabe has all the tools.

McCabe could become another Headmen, why would we add to that?

I'm guessing this is sarcasm....

Tampa would laugh at any idea of trading him. And if he's an RFA (too lazy to look it up right now) they would match any offer sheet and not even think twice about it.

When we moved into our 3rd floor apartment in GA, in July a year-ish back, the heat index was 106.

Worst. Day. Ever.

This is VERY common amongst defensemen outside of the top 2-3 pick. Hell, it's insanely rare for a defenseman to not need a lot of work regardless of draft position. Hanifin seems to be the most polished, but that doesn't mean he has the highest ceiling.

I feel its a slight overpayment as well, however we have to make it worth taking hodgson.

This, completely. If you wanted to draw up your ideal defenseman on paper Zads would have all of the physical tools you could ask for. Unfortunatley his off-ice mistakes were made in the NHL and not college or juniors. At this point I'll take a chance on the guy with the crazy physical tool set.

He absolutely does not. Hanifin ceiling is #1 d-man. Something Z will never become.

Z is a 3-4 guy through and through.

No D is going before Hanifin. That's a joke

Did Stripes end up getting a hammer? and/or getting his post deleted?
- TheSabresTaco

His post is still there and i agree with it 100%
My only problem with Garth is that his posts land on the sabres page.
He talks about other teams, give him his "corner" in another room......like, in another building.....or the basement.

Lets see chicago tie this series up tonight. They had many chances to win game 3. Boy was that extended 4 on 4 exciting too with kane and teuvo workin the zone.

I really cant stand bishop. Similar to lindback, he is annoyingly large and is a hindrance to the sport. Bishop has a .947% on the road i believe i seen. Its really amazing to me because i dont think he is that good, when he doesnt move too much and stays square its almost impossible to score.

No one wants to make nets bigger, or equipment smaller and back to wood sticks but lets see what happens in 4-6 years when there isnt a goalie in the league under 6'4" and the league average sv% is .930. Will be a major problem

He actually used to talk poop in the comments until his very well-earned promotion.

Why do I not remember that. I've been here since 2009. I guess I just didn't pay much attention.

He's listed as a center but I think you're right, he plays both, center during injuries.

We have Kane and Moulson in our top 6 for several more years. To me it even makes less sense to bring him in. I'm going to assume if Larsson is re-signed instead of traded, they're comfortable with him scoring on the third line with Reinhart and later Girgensons.

- TheSabresTaco

Like I said , was an RFA idea. Smaller name that would cost less to poach. Thought he played both wings not just LW/C.

Hanifin has been being talked about for over a year now as the next star defenseman.

Now all of the sudden he is "good player, nothing special"

I don't even know if it is so much a question of which D goes first. I don't think any of these guys are generational like Ekblad or Jones so some forwards will probably go before the top D. This is the very reason that I wouldn't necessarily trade Zads for any of them.

Hanifin has no issues, he is the complete package.

Minus the punching people in the face part, which means he would not fit in, in buffalo.
