Based on what the article says, it sounds to me like Glendale really just doesn't want them there. At this point, they're better off to just cut their losses and move elsewhere, though I don't know what city has an arena readily available offhand.

I don't really see a use for Hagelin on this team.

As for Yandle, he could be a huge boost. I haven't really thought about what I would offer. He comes in at a low cap hit because of his retained salary by Arizona. Not that it really matters that much. I'd just be careful what I would offer for him because he only has one year left on his contract. Hell, I don't even think they'd be interested in moving him before the TDL, and that's if he sounded unwilling to re-sign.

Hypothetically, what would I give up from your offer? 21, McCabe, Possler/Olafsson.

I like Hagelin and I am biased towards him, but on Yandle, I think the Rangers would ask for a lot due to his reduced salary.

As such, I think what Buffalo would be willing to offer and what the Rangers would want would be vastly different.

It'd be another thing entirely if they decide to sign him to a deal when he hits free agency as that means the team will have had an entire season to see the progress rates of Ristolainen, Zadorov, Pysyk, Bogosian, and McCabe.

It may be shady but it is similar to the Amerks situation in that the city is subsidizing a pro sports franchise. All parties are losing a ton of money.

I was just in Garths thread and saw some of the Hanifin comments so I decided to come into here...and boom my boy is talking about ROR.

I think the Rangers would just hang up without actually saying anything. It would be one thing if it was just Yandle, but they're going to want a decent amount for both him and Hagelin and I don't think a bunch of picks/prospects are going to get it done.

Funny, I was just thinking of Zadorov on the way into work this morning because all the radio stations are fawning over Victor Hedman. However I think I would trade him for Hannfin.

I would think that Risto has more of a chance to be like Hedman, but that's just me. There's reasons why I don't want to trade Zadorov. The first being I loved the pick. I think he could be a huge pain in the ass to play against, but I'm not sure that dealing with the attitude and stuff from this past year is worth it. Especially because there's no guarantee he actually develops the way we hope he will.

I haven't seen Hanifin other than in the All American Prospects game, and I can't say I was impressed because honestly I wasn't. But I don't want to make my decision based on that very limited experience with him.

(shrug) why not? Both are unknowns but Zads has a higher ceiling. Saying no to that trade isn't saying that Zads is better.
