Nope they're bringing Keith Magnuson out of retirement, car should be pulling up at the nursing home any minute now.

TVR hasn't played a game in a few months. Sad to see his career end like this. I think this is almost worse then if he had to retire due to the blood clots.

Did anyone try and rationalize the Gagne for Walker trade when it happened?

Button has him at 6.

My biggest issue is I haven't seen him play a game, just highlights. The highlights have been impressive as Hell, but most guys have great highlight reels

Juulsen, Noah RD – Everett Silvertips (WHL) – 6'02” 174 HockeyProspect.com Ranking: 22

Noah Juulsen is a highly talented and lanky defenseman who played big minutes in all game situations for the Everett Silvertips. He is an effective skater, capable of taking the puck end to end. He's not afraid to pinch down low in the offensive zone when necessary. He plays big power play minutes and is very smart and consistent with the puck. He also possesses a hard point shot that regularly hits the net.

Defensively in one on one situations he is calm and effective. All while displaying a willingness to play physical when the opportunity presents itself. In his own end, Juulsen throws big hits all over the ice despite looking rather lanky—physical and equipped with a long reach. He's a difficult player to beat along the boards. Not afraid to mix it up after the whistles either, Juulsen shows good intensity. On the penalty kill, he has very low body position and likes to lay down and use his body to block potential cross ice passes. Juulsen very much prefers to be the one to make the first play with the puck out of the defensive zone, usually sending an accurate first pass up ice.

When you put together all of the talents Juulsen brings to the table, he has good upside at both ends of the ice. Juulsen will need to grow into his size and continue developing, but projects as a top four defender who can contribute both offensively and defensively.

That's the downside of him playing in the USHL, we don't get to see any of those games.

here's the write up on Connor:

Connor, Kyle LC - Youngstown (USHL)
6’1” 177 HockeyProspect.com Ranking: 5
The thing we like most about Connor is that he has a very high hockey IQ. He combines his hockey smarts with skill and creativity and it translates into making him one of the more dangerous offensive players available in this draft.
Connor is a fantastic skater. He can explode through checks and excels using his edges. He reaches his top speed in a hurry and attacks the opposing blueline carrying a lot of speed. Once in the zone, he utilizes his
great short area quickness and high-end skills. He is great at buying himself time and space. He’s great keeping his feet moving and reading and reacting to changing situations. Connor’s a player you want to have control the puck. His hands are soft. He’s both a creative playmaker and goal scorer. His shot is good and he often flashes a very quick release. If he doesn’t have the puck, he supports it well. He reads openings and jumps into areas making him available to get the puck.
He’s good without the puck too and plays pretty hard defensively. He supports the puck well and makes sure he’s an option on the breakout. His smarts translate to the defensive zone as well and he understands defensive positional hockey. He uses his speed to be an effective forechecker and also applies great back-pressure.
He isn’t known for his physical game but he goes to dirty areas and doesn’t shy away from contact. He’s not afraid and will take a hit to make a play.
There’s not much not to like about Connor. Sometimes he might over-handle a puck or try to do too much but it’s not something that troubled us. The skills, smarts and speed he possesses are what get you excited about his potential going forward. He has the ability to translate into a top line player in the NHL. Like many players his age he, needs to fill out his frame and gain more strength.

Quotable: “He was really good in his interview. He came across multiple times as a team first player.” – NHL Scout

Quotable: “After seeing him play great hockey at the U18 in Finland last April, I saw Kyle again in Lake Placid last summer prior to him beginning his draft season in Youngstown. It was an impressive performance and foreshadowed what we would see from him this season. One play that sticks out in my mind was when he used a burst of speed to split two defenders right through the middle of their own zone. Kyle uses his assets well to maximize his performance. Some of his games late in the year were especially impressive. I hear some scouts saying they are concerned about his body. I saw him at the combine and I think he will be fine. He’s no Zacha or Crouse as far as size or physical maturity but that’s short-term thinking. I think long term Connor may emerge as one of the stars from this draft.“ – Mark Edwards

Quotable: "He is a good skater that has that ability to kick it into another gear to split defense. He also flashes nice stick handling skills and creativity. He just seems to have a knack for scoring goals in tight, with speed, or even the greasy ones on rebounds. Everybody wants that type of player." - HP Scout Russ Bitely

Quotable: “It all starts with his speed. I love his game off the rush.” – NHL Scout

Quotable: “That’s a lot of points in the USHL. For whatever reason it’s a tough league to get points. I wouldn’t be surprised if he could’ve put up 100 points in the OHL or Q.

Q makes me miss Laviolette.

He's coming off as a crybaby but he's a veteran coach so he's putting in his work for a call his way in the 3rd.

Yup
Seems the more I follow the draft and the top prospects, the more I realize that I have no idea how this draft is going to go after the 1st 2 picks

Give me a guy like that over a John Stevens any day.

I'm pretty sure there is a clip of him somewhere grabbing his balls on the bench.

Crouse, Lawson LW - Kingston Frontenacs (OHL) 6'03" 212 HockeyProspect.com Ranking: 8

Lawson Crouse is one of the most well rounded two-way players in this year’s draft class. He plays a very sound game and is capable of playing big minutes in any situation. Crouse is a very good skater and has a good top speed. He’s relentless after loose pucks, finishes his checks and is strong enough to separate players from the puck with regularity. He’s very strong on the puck himself, particularly when driving the net. He’s great in the cycle game and is tough to contain down low. He is very good when it comes to skating through contact as well.

Crouse is excellent defensively and is always back in the defensive zone to support. He’s tough to get around in the neutral zone and regularly forces turnovers in that area of the ice. He is an excellent penalty killer and has been since early in is OHL career.

He has underrated playmaking skills and is a capable passer. Crouse has a powerful shot that is definitely pro caliber. He finds open space and gets it off relatively quickly. Crouse isn’t an overly creative player with the puck and is much more of a straight-line player than a dazzler.

Crouse is low risk pick who projects to make the NHL quicker than many of his draft classmates. He will create space for his linemates at the NHL level and chip in offensively as well. Coaches will love how he excels at doing all the little things well. He will be a force to contend with in the NHL.

Quotable: “I love his game. He doesn’t get enough credit for his offensive ability.” NHL Scout

Quotable: “I think he can easily play on a wing in the top 6.” NHL Scout

Quotable: “He might be the safest pick in the draft after McDavid and Eichel.” NHL Scout

Quotable: “In his OHL draft year I mentioned to a few OHL staffers that he reminded me of lesser hitting but more skilled Tom Wilson. I think he’s played a bit like that in his OHL career so far. He doesn’t destroy players with his hits the way Wilson did, but he definitely plays a smarter and more skilled game. He moves the puck much better than Wilson, who simply dumped it into corners and then hunted down the D-man doing the retrieval.” – Mark Edwards

The write ups on Zacha, Werenski and Connor have me re-watching highlights.

Called Werenski the most pro-ready defenseman, and said if he returns to Michigan, he's likely to be a Hobey Baker Finalist
