Oh c'mon now. Nobody trades their goalies that are playing well and for a player on LTIR when they are trying to win. Nobody believed that no matter how convinced Some Sabres fans were.

Yeah he was in full tank mode, there is no doubt of that.

Hopefully for you guys he doesn't need Messier to win it all...

Might be unemployed sooner if he doesn't learn to shut his stupid looking mouth. You hear Eichel was " surprised" his quote that he made in a private conversation with Murray made the media?
- Jeropotato

I did hear that. Murray was asked about the article from the Boston Globe I believe about that question on the radio. He said it was true.

What we don't know was Murray the one to tell the Boston paper? Or did he just confirm it?

But yes I agree he is surprisingly open and honest when he is asked questions. I like it but he is going to get himself burned a few times.

I'm sure. There isn't a player on the Oilers that is going to benefit more from McDavid than Hall. Hall could be a 45-55 goal scorer once McDavid gets settled in.

You don't think Nuge and Eberle will benefit from 2nd line competition?

They absolutely will but I think Hall will benefit more that's all.

Murray is probably a smart hockey guy....but he reminds me of Mike Gillis in the sense that he simply isn't likeable. There's been probably 3 incidences now where he said some stupid poop to the media.

1. The Lottery dissapointment
2. The Nolan firing rationale
3. The Eichel comment

There were many people here claiming he did everything in his power to make us better.

I like Murray, but my god he's been a GM for a year and a few months and people act like he's a hall of famer

I actually think he did pretty well with that. What was he really supposed to say?

The guy doesn't run a system, our players look lost even more so than last year, he was continually giving PP time to Brian Flynn and Torrey Mitchell over Cody Hodgson?

Nolan is not a good coach.

Hall put up big points playing with Nuge, I can only imagine how he will improve with McDavid

Just the implication that Nolan was responsible for the record....when Murray did everything he could to ensure last place.

Yeah I guess but he also couldn't say I don't want him anywhere near our young players next season

You're right he's not a good coach, and it's his fault we were in last.......and Murray extended his contract

Of course he did. Who was going to come coach that team knowing he was going to most likely get fired?

Nolan got his 3 year contract, boo hoo man this same sh!t different day with you . It gets old real fast.

Murray gave Nolan a 3 year contract. I am sure there was negotiations there, because Nolan is no fool he knew he wasn't going to last the full 3 years.

Yeah? Not sure if implementing a system is the right approach for a rebuilding team. I mean, evenntually yes, but it does stifle creativity.

Not likely. Nolan had no leverage. That looks like a bad move by Murray.....are you 100% sure he's the right guy for this job?

100% no not at all, but I am 10000% sure Nolan is not the right coach.

There needs to be some system on every type of team. The Sabres looked lost. It was awful.

The player selections of who is getting PP time is just an example of the many gaffs Nolan made.

If Evander Kane works out, Murray knows something we don't. If the players he has traded for turn out to be real NHL players Murray knows something we don't.

It gets really old reading people wanting to have it both ways

Nolan got a golden parachute.

Murray wanted to be bad, so he extended a bad or below average coach.

The "no system" thing is hilarious though. The Coyotes looked lost with that roster last year and Dave Tippett is a top 5-10 coach

Explain to me how I wanted it both ways?

I expected them to be bad.

I would have liked to see some sort of team play and not just be pinned in their own zone 70% of a game.

Then blame Murray for not putting an NHL roster together.

You wanted a better product, but absolve the guy who makes the roster decisions. Maybe Mark Pysyk would have helped?

Team play and we are drafting strome instead of eichel. I was very happy how they played. I actually wanted them pinned 80% instead of 70. Season was too close for me
