You can offer the rookie max witch for a cap strapped team like Chicago would be the nail in the coffin say he hits on his bonuses.

I guess it would depend on what exactly he needs to do to hit the bonuses though. If it's unlikely that he hits that, then they can offer it anyway because the chances of that happening are slim. Plus there is a cushion for overages of the cap due to bonuses. It's not huge, but it helps.

He had an interview last week I believe on WGR that he hasn't called Edmonton and doesn't plan on it. You can take it for what it is but he sound happy with Jack (as he should be)

I think that offer gets your around Nuge, Drasaitl or Yaks. Strome will likely duplicate any of their career stats. Plus you get two free defensemen.

I think he fits the Murray mold better. However I would never anticipate to to take McDavid over eichel, ever.
