If the rumor in Mike Augello's column for the Leafs has any legs the Sabres should get involved. They have a higher pick than the Leafs have at 21, have the cap space to take on Semin's contract and Skinner's if need be, has other assets to offer to move up to get the 5th pick overall. Screw the Leafs

Kessel is in there though. The Sabres do not have a player like him to send the other way

Some are speculating it's Kadri which would still pose a problem unless TM got creative and offered multiple prospects like Zads + Grigs+someone else Carolina likes in the Sabres 2nd tier of prospects for Hanfin who could be drafted to replace Zads. The Sabres probably can't do it but I'd hate to see the Leafs get picks 4 and 5.

Picks 4 and 5 aren't NHL ready yet IMO. Hannifin MIIIIIGHT be. Them getting 4 and 5 doesn't make them non rebuilders. It just speeds it up a year. I am not worried. They have holes all over the place

This wouldn't surprise me at all that it has legs. I bet the Leafs feel the need to make a splash in this strong top end draft after losing out to Mcdavid and the Sabres getting Eichel. They will want some attention themselves and a way to speed up their rebuild. They will want to hear and read the columns about how 4 and 5 is equal to at least the Sabres getting Eichel at 2 and not far away from what the Oilers got at #1 with Mcdavid and how this isn't your grandmother's Maple Leafs, blah, blah, blah.

I would make a package of our 21, gringo and hodgson and a other prospect for JVR and bernier. Add on either side to make it work. Toronto gets rebuilding pieces and some salary in hodgson back. We get a starting tender and a good winger in JVR with a good contract. Doesn't hurt our future cap too

Toronto is looking to shed salary not pick some up. They are looking to move their big cap guys. JVR also plays LW, I'll pass and they can find a goalie comparable to Bernier in FA.

Mike Schopp thinks Kopitar is the 2nd best player in hockey...

I won't argue that Kopitar is good but my god why is Schopp on the air?

Clearly a better player than all but 1 of the following: Crosby, Ovechkin, Stamkos, Kane, Toews, Tavares, Giroux....

It's a lot of mindless running papers back and forth. This is not enough.. that is not enough... try harder. Oops... you gave us too much, or we asked for the wrong thing.

I work for a bank and have seen this happen too many times to our customers.

Did you hear that segment? My god.

Shea Weber= over rated

Tyler Seguin according to Bulldog has only had 1 good year (he's had 3)

Then Paul Hamilton says that Leddy and Boychuk were both in their mid twenties when the Isles traded for them.

He's way off on Leddy, but for Boychuk I don't see the issue.

He weighs 225, and that's exactly midtwenties.
