It's actually kinda funny no one's made the Grigorenko comparison yet. His work ethic was highly questioned the past 2 years, and last season was the first time people laid off of him. Here's another guy with elite skill but just won't put the work in (yet) to reach his potential. One of the major reasons Detroit was even able to grab him in 2013 was because of his work ethic. He'll probably figure out sooner or later that he can't coast like he did in juniors and light up the AHL. It might take him a year or two to really figure it out and come to the ice with an entirely new attitude like Grigs did, but hopefully he does. And when he does, I hope he's in Buffalo's system for dimes on the dollar.

Also, trading Pysyk is terrible unless it's an overpayment. People seem to think we just have this glut of NHL caliber defensemen and it's entirely not true. Pysyk and McCabe and a fill in in Ruhwedel. Florentino and Martin are years away. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see one trade with an up and coming defenseman coming to us and THEN using one of those 3 (probably Pysyk or McCabe) to grab an up and coming winger. This way, we pick up a young forward and a defenseman for what would be a defenseman, expendable forward and picks.

Chicago would let Saad go before moving Hjalmarsson

Seabrook is a UFA after next season and Hjalmarsson is younger

How Dare you 89!

You know that the Soccer Dude has a "Man-Crush" on him.....

According to him, Nash has always played up to his 7.8 Million and isn't a leader on the Rangers.

It was Hayes, Krueger, and a variety of 4th line players that let the team down!

Probably, but they don't have the organizational depth to let multiple guys go with no suitable replacements. I don't think people realize how many roster spots they need to fill right now.

If van Reimsdyk replaces Oduya, they still need at least 2 NHL defensemen and 4 or 5 forwards

They have the ability to sign anyone for the cheap. If they win another cup, guys will be looking at taking cents on the dollar to fill those spots. That Mike Reilly kid is apparently linked to them now too. They have some hard decisions to make, but they are not as bad as we all think they are

Saad is young, you dont let guys like him walk. He probably will play ball and do a 2year bridge deal so he is cap friendly. Why would he mess up a good thing right now.

cant tear down the little future you have to be loyal to some of the older vets who are over paid if they want to keep on winning

Cooking actually isn't that hard once you really understand the basics. Sounds like you're well on your way.

Spaghetti squash is pretty delicious.

I remember Detroit fans going nuts on me when I said he is lazy. It's been his issue since juniors.

I would do Pysyk or McCabe for him, but not much more

- sbroads24

I'd have more faith in a Pysyk for Rychel deal to work out than getting Mantha.

Chicago might want to restock the cupboards a little bit though too. It might be to their advantage to sell Saad at a high point.

They desperately need D men. Keith is getting up there and Seabrook is gonna get paid handsomely.

They do need to gain some assets back, thats why I think they ship out Sharp. Why trade a guy in Saad for assets in the hopes of them becoming him?

Sharp will get some good pieces back, the classic 1st round pick, good young player, and a prospect.

Pokka from the Leddy trade is pretty good, had a respectable 30pts in 68gms in his first AHL season. He could probably battle for a spot next season.

If they do some smart offseason moves this year, they might not be as bad of shape that we all think they are
