Read that article about Sweeney making him clean house. But what does that say about him then?

"Hey, Julien, we are going to keep you around because we think you are a good coach, but we have a few things we are going to need you to do.

First, we need you to fire your assistant coaches because we don't think they are working out.
I mean seriously, our PP have you seen it? Probably not because no one has since Savard got hurt. Hahaha. But seriously. And we will help hire assistant coaches that we think will work better for us.

Second, we have not done a good job with integrating younger guys into our lineup, so you need to play the kids more and deal with there growing pains.
I know this is the opposite of what you have done in the past by relying on your safe and defensive vets, but that needs to change.
Here, take this Spoon and have some Pasta.

Third, your system. We are too passive and lay back on our heels. We do not attack and bring the fight to the opposing team and rely on capitalizing on the other teams mistakes.
But, how many Bruins does it take to put the puck into an empty net........?
Seriously......I'm not joking. How many?
Smith, Lucic, Ericksson, Kelly, Paile, ugh.

Well, after we change everything you are comfortable with and what has brought you success in the past, we feel the future will work out perfectly.

Don't you?"

Yup....this ends well.

I think you're being way too pessimistic. You know who else is constantly hounded for not "trusting the youth"? Joe Quennville. He literally won't play his 5th and 6th D. And yet, fighting for cup #3... The PP was garbage but I'm pretty sure everyone knew that would happen when Sacco arrived. THAT was stupid. Juliens system is also not an issue considering they are almost always near the top in goal diff.

Do people not realize just how (frank)ed up last year was? Between cap mismanagement and injuries, I think Julian earned that extension last year getting out of the team what he did. How many teams lose their top line C, top scoring winger and both top pairing d men and succeed? Personnel was the issue, not coaching

I do not put all of last season on Julien. But when would you say that his system is no longer valid? After a bad start this next season? Do we give him all of next season?

And have you watched the individual players and there lack of emotion and often regressing play?

That's my problem with him now.
Smith got worse, not that I think he is more than a good third liner.
Lucic is inconsistent and is a ghost more often than he plays.
Bart regressed.
He plays Campbell and Kelly and Paile over Pasta and Spooner when losing.
The PP has not improved for the last half decade.

Watching the Hawks, what is the problem with rolling four D men and the top two maybe three lines?
He is so set with his rolling of all four lines........and relying on under talented vets instead of skilled young guys.

If Sweeney is saying his hiring choices in assistants is suspect, that his style needs to change and be more aggressive and the he needs to play the kids more......what is the point of keeping him if you make him change everything that is his job?

I don't think it's his system that needs changing though. It's not a high flying system, but it's not Guy Bouchers trap either. I think he played it safe a lot last year because he didn't trust his roster (because it was bad). They need more offensive players. I would agree Juliens unwillingness to trust offensive players is his big issue. I'm ok with Sweeney baby sitting there. A full year of Spooned, Pasta and Connolly should work wonders. I think Sacco was an awful hire but otherwise guys like Houda and Ramsey were great.

Like I said before, I don't believe this team is in dire straits just yet, and I think Sweeney is blowing a lot of smoke up our buts because he feels the same way but wants to give the illusion that changes are being made

OK sorry, off topic. I do want them to keep Julian, I just keep think about things like bobby ftorik, Mike o'connell (interim and self appointed) and the hilter clone that was Dave Lewis.. man didn't he know the mustache was a bad idea?

I also think people aren't wearing enough hats.
