All I can say is thank God for helmet rules. No helmet, his head is caved in and we are talking about "losing a guy so young" and "all that missed potential" etc etc etc.

The bottom line is that the Flyers really are in the drivers seat with Del Zotto. They really could just qualify him at 10% and dare other teams to Offer Sheet him. If a team does, The Flyers can determine how high they want to go, and if not, take the compensation.

I was thinking about Lappy taking that puck to the face. Pure luck he wasn't killed IMO.

I think in my lifetime we'll see mandatory full face protection.

Guys are probably starting to get weary of punching helmets. If face protection comes into play it'll probably just fade out on it's own.

Kinda hard to fight a guy with your fist if he's wearing a helmet covering his entire head.

I college they just leave the gloves on. I've never seen a fight in a game my son's played in, and there have been plenty, where any player intentionally let their gloves come off.

He was a favourite of mine. That goal in the playoff against Quebec will forever be burned into my memory.

I played for years on one of the top-ranked roller teams in the country. We all wore full-face protection, and let me just say from experience that, if you REALLY want to, you can get someone's helmet/cage off.

What team?

I have played some of those tops teams. Also Narch, Torhs and even Ussac when around. Also some Pro Beach hockey.

Yep, that's my point. They won't have to legislate it out of the game at that point, it would go away on it's own.
