derrr Leafs should trade their 30+ goal scorer, top 10 in scoring forward for peanuts because his contract is bad.
....Kessel gets paid like you would think a top talent forward does.
this really isnt hard. - Lee Denault
I dont think any of that, IMO hes just not a good fit for us, and the right deal will come along for him, Im hoping if a pre draft or at the draft deal is made it would be with NJ |

Yea but they grow on trees. Why trade for one when you get one free off the UFA market, on a short term small money contract.

Exactly. This team is moving in a new direction, so he and others have to go, but the value has to hold true, regardless of the mess of this team. Do not sell low.
I don't mind him staying until a desperate GM makes a desperate move, and they always do. The leafs seem to be and should be, all about patience. |

At the end of the day we should not expect the moon for Kessel NOR should we expect a bucket of soggy KFC that's still pink in the middle.
In other words, I have a feeling we will be happy with the return. |

Not comparing here but I remember some other 5' 11" C from the O that got drafted 4th. Steve Yzerman or something like that. Yeah, he was a (frank)ing bum. Lawton 1st overall that year.
We gonna suck with a 4th. |

Also I'm not saying McJesus is Lawton at all. In fact I think he will be the shnizzle. I'm saying in a roundabout way he is Hanifin... primed boners all pointed at Noah only to suddenly go limp.
Sorry but I have a feeling he's gonna be a bust, I just do. Not trolling at all Bruce but my gut feelings are usually right. |

Subban says hi - lumlums
Your right. He's only won the Norris award and will likely either win it again this year or be the runner up. How much individual hardware cheeseburger Phil have under his belt? And he's playing one of the hardest positions in hockey and already has mastered at the ripe old age of 26. |

Again, yea..no. I'm sure you're awesome at habing but you might want to call it quits on your Leafing career. You're just not that good at it. Thanks though. Really thank you. We had a shortage of Hab fans coming in here to try and depress us even more with all the negatives
I know, I know, you do this because you really care, and its not trolling. But like...yea. - systemtool
Keep holding onto that hope then of getting fair value for Phil. You likely one of those people think that bringing in babcock is gonna make a difference too.

Please enlighten me. Humour me if u would. How is babcock any better than Carlisle? Randy won a cup on a stacked team in Anaheim and babcock won on a stacked team in Detroit. Horacek could have won at the Olympics so the resumes are pretty well a wash. And as far a phil goes, let's see u get fair market value for him. You won't, and by the time u finally get fed up that nobody's bit at the asking price, it'll be 3 years later and he'll be on the decline

I don't get the love affair with Marner. He's smallish, has been dealing with concussion issues.....why is there no love for Strome? I think he's the keeper, after the top 2 are gone. Large centre, who has yet to fill out and lead the OHL in scoring. This guy has been overshadowed by McDavid. Once he gets his own spotlight, he'll excel even more. Hanifan? Not with the 4th pick! Acquire the 5th, then sure. - PrinceLH
Watch marner play.
Strome is slow

And then I stopped reading due to obvious troll attempt |

Strome got easier match ups because of McDavid, and got to play with him on the PP. His playoff numbers are a big drop and he himself said he wasn't injured. Not a good skater, not overly physical. Obviously he's a good prospect, but wouldn't surprise me at all if his numbers fell next season without Mcdavid. Marner did what he did as the top guy on his team, taking the top competition.
League is leaning more and more towards small speedy forwards. Hes a strong two way player who doesn't back down from a challenge on the ice.
As for Hanifin, he's got the makings of an elite level dman, like a Neidermayer or Doughty. That could be pretty good going forward.

Ya I agree my list goes Marner, Hanifin, Strome but whoever Hunter picks I'll be happy with. I think I trust him lol |
