I don't doubt that it works, in fact that's why I think it's a bad idea lol. I'd be asleep on the floor about 5 minutes after the night started if I used it. - daeth

The teams that advanced, also had some size and grit in the mix. Keep drafting small forwards for your top 6, and that's all that you'll have going forward. Chicago had Hossa and Sharp in their top 6, plus used Bickell there as well. - PrinceLH

We just drafted a smaller forward in Nylander.....what are we shooting for? Smurfs, Ontario chapter? What are we designing ourselves after? The Scabs? This team is in need of some serious size. Looking at what's working in the playoffs, you have to have size, mixed in with skill, to survive in the playoffs. The players we draft this season, will be our core in 4 years. The team has to start thinking on where we have the biggest holes and close them. The top priority is a number one centre, to close up the gaping hole, that's been there since Sundin left. - PrinceLH

Yzerman had guys like Probert, Kocer and Darrin McCartey around to protect them. Lots of size on the forward lines. Gilmour still had Wendel Clarke and Dave Andrychuk playing the wings. What are we going to do? Put Marner with Brown and Nylander? They'll simply get mauled out there. The Leafs need to upgrade their size quotient and either find some large wingers to play with a Marner, or draft a large centre to play with the smaller wingers. - PrinceLH
that kucherov-johnson-palat line is definitely having a tough time scoring being an average of 5'10.5ft |

You do not draft what you think your need is (as you said for 4years from now) and pass on more skilled and talented players to take a lesser skilled player. That isn't how to draft properly.
Draft the best skill, with the best chance at reaching said talent in the nhl. |

our first line next year should be Devane-Gauthier-Crouse
no one could handle that size!
Edit: realized Devane is bigger than Biggs, we need that extra size. |

(frank)sakes Prince. You always use your higher picks to draft the BPA. Get size later with later picks and/or signings.

it's funnier when he brings up arguments against his draft size mentality, how he just disappears. |

Everybody needs to calm down. They're gonna draft who they wanna draft. They know what they're doing and if you listen to Dubas, it will likely be Marner if he's available. He said you always draft skill because it's easier to acquire size later if need be. |

Indeed. Size is a bonus, but not the deciding factor.
If you can get somebody skilled and fast who just so happens to have size, then all the better |

If they are a rare player with size, speed and skill yes, draft them but otherwise speed and skill needs to be the focus. It's hard to maul them if they can't catch them, and keep up with their cycles.
TB is going to win this I have a gut feeling. (50-50 chance haha) |
