I'm sure some will bash this.. But, I think these are realistic trades that I'm praying can happen in the next month. I know people don't want to retain any salary on players. To be honest, it won't matter because we will not need the salary for 4-5 years anyways

I like the picks, but personally I think Leafs get hosed in all 3 of those deals.
But I do think deals can be made and it's very possible we end up with four 1st rounders in this draft.

Marner and Kylington are already leaf picks.

JVR kessel bosak Phaneuf for all others.. It's a win win in every situation.

That being said, rumour has it they're going with Strome.


Leafs need to find a way to get Carolina's pick if true. Would be amazing to come out of this draft with Marner AND Hanifin.

I don't get the love affair with Marner. He's smallish, has been dealing with concussion issues.....why is there no love for Strome? I think he's the keeper, after the top 2 are gone. Large centre, who has yet to fill out and lead the OHL in scoring. This guy has been overshadowed by McDavid. Once he gets his own spotlight, he'll excel even more. Hanifan? Not with the 4th pick! Acquire the 5th, then sure.

I think that I'd like to have Seth Jones and a 2016 second rounder, for Kessel, from Nashville.

Have you actually watched Strome play or are just going by stats? He looked like the 5th best forward on Erie during the playoffs. Plays small for his size, never hits and hes a weak skater. Never seen him create anything unless he was on the PP with a ton of room.

You can't just fill out the lineup with all top 6 forwards. Gauthier is the only defensively responsible player in that lineup.

I did see him play in the regular season. He has the tools. Erie was pretty much a one line team, with a couple of other decent players and they got to the OHL finals. We don't know, maybe Strome was injured or beat up. His playoff play, didn't equal his regular season play, but from what I saw in the regular season, he can be dominant, in both ends of the rink.

Gauthier is probably 2 years away, one if he can catch up to the pro game, skating wise.

With the retained salary, yes. There should be no need for that if we're already taking back a contract.
