Thanks for the info on Cannon Beach. Just made it here a few hours ago. Staying at the Ocean Lodge. This place is a significant upgrade from Bandon.

The live theatre is cheap and very well produces. We use to stay at the Fishermans Hotel? Right across from Haystack Rock. Right in Astoria around 14 miles up the coast is a very cute town. They shot Kindergarten Cop there and War of the Roses. There was a great pancake place called the Dutch Cup but I think it is gone now and a great steak house right on the pier where you can see the seals and enjoy a great Prime Rib. Almost Keg like.

At the Washington border on the coast still there is also Longview where you can drive your car right on the sand for 14 miles and a cool lighthouse.

Another attraction is the Tillamuck cheese factory

Also the bridge in Astoria is worth the sight

If you have kids with you drop by Seaside it is beautiful and great arcades

Comets win 4-1. We should be sending Canucks down so they can experience a winning environment

Surprised neither team sent down guys like Jurco or Horvat.

Outside of Tanev and Bo all the Canucks that count are already down there.

I am totally guessing but I think Canucks wanted Bo to concentrate on being a Canuck and not worry about being a Comet.

Yeah I believe that was similar reasoning for Detroit not sending Mrazek down.

How the heck does Frederik Gauthier not dominate with his size?

Toronto constantly trashes vancouver picks, but straight up this guy has ZERO finish.

The Tillamook Extra Old Cheese is amazing! You can pretty well get it anywhere in WA. Very good and reasonable.

Come on, who on this planet does NOT enjoy 73 straight hours of cricket! (just have a lot of quality tea and tea cosies/doillies on hand and it's a virtual orgy)

And yes, I love the nebulous logic that some of these pundits/talking heads espouse. It would be almost funny if you didn't know these idiots were actually running the country

- Zogg

Just remembered one of the sports channels was showing cricket, they pan over to a couple of hotties in the crowd and they pull their shirts up to the delight of those there and catches the network off guard.

When I was back in Halifax, I took a girlfriend to watch/picnic a couple times at the Commons (sports fields close to down town) on the weekend, very chill, no idea if there is any purpose to the sport or not. V. Nice.

I think Astoria is also called Little San Francisco.

There was a nice little bbq establishment, pulled pork and the like, next to the tracks by the town area. Cheap too. The place was filled with racing gear. I think it was called Rollin Thunder. A bit casual, almost a dive, but the owner was very nice.

That whole Oregon coast is a nice drive. So many places to see, stop, eat. You mention pancakes and we kept on seeing Pig n' Panckakes. and those little coffee places on the side of the road/drive thru's- I think we stopped at one near that Tillamook place (big smoke stack), bunch of old trains/caboose and stuff there.

You want to stop and take pictures every 5 minutes.

In Free Willy when the little kid fires the baseball through the big bay window you can see the bridge in the background

They use to keep Willy not his real name in Newport Aquarium , before they sent him to some Scandanavian county. They also filmed part of the Free Willy films in Friday Harbour another great place to visit in Wahington

Horvat is in the big show to stay...no way are they gonna risk a major injury down in the minors.
