Im starting to think it was more a product of Nolan's keep all 5 guys back for 55 minutes strategy and less about irbe.
- Sabresfan-365

I don't think so. They were giving up a ton of shots, and there were a good portion of them that were from point blank. Somehow our guys all seemed to deal with it while not looking like a complete trainwreck.

I think reinhart on the second line with 50 points is a realistic expectation

not to mention he is great at setting up which should improve the wingers and the pp

- homiedclown

I just don't see him going from 1 point in 9 games this season to a 50 point second line center next season.

Don't see that one bit.

On top of that, why would he ever be the second line center next season? My two cents is Girgensons starts as number 1 while Eichel gets his feet wet. Reinhart wont get a sniff at the second line center spot. I still think he starts in Rochester.

Am I crazy?

how long was kane and toews in the minors after they were drafted?

reinhart and eichel are the future of the sabres and if your keeping eichel with the big club, no reason to not keep both

we have waited long enough

- homiedclown

Reinhart is not in their class. Your impatience does not equal them being ready.

Kind of strange how Neuvirth sucked as soon as he played for the Islanders though. I think he didn't face any shots his first game and let in some terrible goals. He was fairly brutal for us. I think you guys may be putting a little too much stock in a goalie coach.

Call Quenville then... his lines are too small... better gut the whole team.

i'm sick of that argument... oh.... they are too small... get outta here.

Who are the giants protecting the top 2 lines in Chicago... or TB.. or Ana???

get real.

Not all 2nd overall picks are equal. That's not to say Reinhart can't be great, but he's got more things he needs to work than toews and kane did.

JVince and Homie on the exact same page again...

You guys are treating Reinhart like he is some mid round draft pick and wasn't the top forward in the entire draft. Get real guys... there is a reason why he was taken so high and with a better team around him in the NHL he will do just fine. I'm not putting a number on it but I am sure we will mix our lines up quite a bit but I expect him to get a lot of minutes.

Agreed currently all of our top centers are under 22.. Potential is great just next year may surprise people.

IMO the jump just to get out of rock bottom is huge. Leafs, devils, yotes, canes should be below us...besides that I cant see may teams below us

your right and if the sabres had the first pick, there is a reason why he would have been picked first overall in that draft

Just my own observation as I am a guy who was sucked into the whole... "we need a rugged guy on every line who can fight if needed like a Stewart, Lucic, etc"

Then you look at the top teams in the playoffs and standings every year....

Chicago, TB, Anaheim, Detroit, Montreal, etc.... NONE of them have big bruisers on their top lines.

its all just hub-bub.

Wow, who are his line mates going to be? They better be super human.

You realize Kunitz is on Crosby's line and went something like 25 games this season without a goal...right?

Having better linemates...no matter how good...doesn't translate into a 50 point season.

You said 50 points is realistic for a rookie joining the worst team in the league. a Team whos leading point scorer last year put up 46 points. Sorry but its not realistic

He'd also be facing the other teams toughest defenders. It's true his linemates at the beginning of last season were bad, but so was the matchup. He may get Kane and Eichel on his line, but if his skating and size still aren't up to par, the top pair defence will manhandle him.

TB's top 2 lines average what.... MAYBE 5'10 and 170 lbs soaked with sweat after a game...? Maybe?
